The building is really nice made of concrete and exotic wood with open shared spaces at every floor. We had the large room for the 4 of us. Beds were super confortable, large connected tv, efficient AC. Location is very close to the beach and a couple of good restaurants which is nice as it’s hard to walk in the very soft sand of Atins streets and people mostly move around in 4x4 or ATV. We loved the simple food provided by the property. Employees were super nice and helpful with one of them speaking excellent English. They’ll answer all your questions.

Swimming pool water could be clearer.

From our first contact with Adriana who handles reservations via WhatsApp, we were really pleased with all the helpful information and recommendations provided by Vila das Águas. All the staff who we had contact with, Maísa, Jeane and Ana Maria, were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. Breakfast was great, with fresh bread, juice, fruits and cakes, eggs and tapioca 'sandwiches' made to order. Bed was super comfortable and sheets, towels of were high quality. Room was really well decorated with attention paid to small details like fragrant soap, shampoo, etc. in the shower and also for hand-washing. Nespresso coffee maker with some pods, hot water teapot and teas, plus mineral water were provided free of charge, and the mini-fridge was stocked with reasonably priced sodas and beer. All-in-all this is a high quality property that aims to please guests and offers great service to boot. Nothing very significant to complain about.

The only issue we had was with mosquitoes in the room at night. Despite the ladies applying Raid spray in the early evening, the buzzing at night kept/woke us up and my wife & I had to sleep with our heads under the sheets to keep from getting bitten. Could have been the time of the year, but there was certainly a lot of standing water around Atins at the end of April, and it rained at least a bit every day we were there. The location is a little far away from the good restaurants, so we had to take a quad-runner (Sr. Dedeu is awesome!) to and from dinner at night. Lots of standing water on the 'streets' (which are just sandy pathways) makes it a challenge to navigate to some places.

Beautiful peaceful room and communal areas, made us a take away breakfast as we were leaving before breakfast started. Lots of hammocks for relaxing. No pool but only 100m from the beach so no need

Poor breakfast and not so welcoming staff. The owner was nicer but overall it felt quite overpriced for the facilities and service.

Everything else. To make a long story short, I should have seen and BELIEVED the other reviews here on booking talking about the owner of this establishment. If your stay is uneventful, things will be “alright”, but if you have a minor issue be ready to deal with a woman that’s rude and an amateur in hospitality! NOT WORTH your money. - Room is nicely decorated, but bathroom has no proper windows causing discomfort. - The water in Atins contains rust, establishments at this price range normally have another source of water for their guests but not Vila das Águas (it costs more for them), so get ready for brown water from the sink and the worst shower experience one can have, water with low pressure, smelly, dirty and bad taste. - The reception area is badly arranged, the “garden” just looks like a piece of empty land (and seeing old reviews here, it’s been like that for a long time…) - Breakfast is very average quality. - The lady who’s the main staff at breakfast had some rude moments it was almost comical for us that have already travelled the world to more simple and fancy places. - To finish, the cherry on top of the cake, after complaining here on booking.com and asking for a commercial gesture due to a 10h power shortage during one of the 2 nights we stayed, the owner grants us back R$4 (the 10% tips) given to the afternoon staff (who was actually nice and deserving of her tip) that prepared us a drink!!! It’s OUTRAGEOUS! We obviously won’t stay there again and will make sure to put the word out there for all foreigners and Brazilians we can reach to not to support this establishment either.
