Very clean and with good general hotel facilities. Good views over the town. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic and hot. There's good parking at the back.

The room was advertised on Booking.com as having a mini bar. It did not. It had a fridge (switched off) with two small bottles of water. It really needs to have a kettle and makings in the rooms. If it's to be considered a 4* star hotel it needs a bit more attention in the rooms. Next door to the hotel is a church which has a VERY LOUD bell that rings every hour and half hour throughout the entire night. It disturbed my sleep every time it rang. The estate around the immediate area is a bit rough. It is a steep walk or steps down to the town and the area is filthy with dog s***t and dogs running loose.

The bed was massive and super-comfortable, with great pillows. I am a really fussy person and often have trouble sleeping in strange beds so this was great. The indoor swimming pool is not big but lovely, and the sauna and steam room provided much-needed relaxation after a hard day's work. The hotel was very easy to find. I'm only disappointed that I forgot to ask what time the bar shut, because by the time I wanted a drink, it was already too late. Would definitely stay here again while en route through the douro valley; it will be even better when the sun's shining outside. I also liked the amount of space in the wardrobes, the towelling robe that was provided, the rituals toiletries, and the big tv and desk to work on.

Only that I didn't have more time to spend there when I realised my drive home was 4 hours not 2 as I'd thought!

The vew from the hotel over the city and surroundings is great. It is worth to pay a little more to have pool view which actually means view of the city. Breakfast was okay but coffee is not the best. Fantastic staff, really nice and helpful. The hotel has a indoor pool and an outdoor pool (this one was being clean but not problem since it is not yet so warm as feeling like going to the pool). We were happy to find such a nice hotel in this location. We will be back and we highly recommend it.

We liked everything. If anything, we could suggest that a bar closing at midnight. Closing at 11 pm is sort of short.

New, modern hotel in good position

Check out procedure poor You cannot check your bill until you have paid. Unacceptable proceedure. Most hotels will present a detailed pro forma invoice and after acceptance, register your payment and present you with an actual invoice reflecting the payment and new Nil balance. Here you are expected to pay on demand and argue afterwards. Not acceptable proceedure. to ensure a happy guest. Also the staff do not understand English. For a four star, there should be someone to help for clear understanding.

Location great for Douro. Very modern, large hotel - was expecting small family hotel! Large bedroom with good en-suite facilities and large balcony. Both indoor and outdoor pools. Dinner was good. Breakfast very good. Staff friendly and helpful.

Difficult to find. Hotel not available on satnav and address ( marginally) wrong so took some time and help of locals to find. Parking limited for size of hotel.

Staff at the desk very nice and pleasant, room very clean and nice space, decorated in a very comfortable style. Breakfast is very good with a big variety and fresh food. Only spent one night,didn't have any time to enjoy more facilities. Will be back for more days in the future.

There are not enough tables for the gest to dining, add to travel 23 km for a restaurant as nothing available in the local village.we are give a list of options on arrival for a few places to eat, but was all full or close. Should have an option when booking to reserve a table as we are not aware of it.

We absolutely loved the location ! But what made the difference on the last leg of our trip was the exceptional service from the whole staff. Whether it was the front desk for suggestions of what to visit- or the very attentive and helpful restaurant staff, everyone was extremely nice!

A lovely hotel with a fantastic pool. The staff were all amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

As sad as it sounds, the coffee machine was far too fiddly for a busy hotel. This would not stop me staying there again!

Very spacious and comfy room. Balcony with two chairs with great views. Small but nice swimming pool.

Late check-in. We arrived around 1pm and we had to wait 1 hour at the reception.
