The room was fantastic, just needed an armchair. Very helpful and happy staff. The head chef even made us a gift wrapped going away present of a delicious Swiss roll.

Brekkie ends at 9.30, so being on holiday I’m usually just regaining consciousness at that time. As a result we missed every breakfast. The buffet is bland with usually only one meat and one fish choice. Both always overcooked and tough.

Wonderful food in great variety. Well done by Mr. Jayawardena and his team. The service was very good thanks to people like Asanka, Chami and others. The swimming pool was awesome. Location near to the park was fantastic, although there was nothing else to do in the vicinity.

We had a big room with 2 AC. One of them we couldn’t turn the fan down to 1. So, turned it off completely during the night, but then the room went too warm.

This is a fantastic place to stay if you are visiting Udawalawe national park. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are amazing and the view from our room was breathtaking. The staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating, we had planned to visit the Elephant Transit Home before checking in, but we arrived too late for the visit so ended up arriving at the hotel very early. It was not a problem for them and they let us use the facilities until it was time to visit the Elephant Transit Home, then we came back and checked into our beautiful room. We had a drink in the bar and a buffet dinner which was really tasty and good quality. They also arranged a safari trip for the next morning which was one of the highlights of our visit to Sri Lanka, the guide was so knowledgeable and we saw so many incredible animals, it was amazing! We got back in time for breakfast which again was a very tasty buffet, the dhal especially was really good! Then there was time to use the gym and have a swim before checking out and leaving for the south coast.

We didn't like having to leave one of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip to Sri Lanka!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us an extra early checkout at 5am due to us going on safari at 0530. The pool area was also very nice, and the room was clean and beautiful. It was also pretty close to the entrance of the Udawalawe National Park.

Everything. Do not miss out on this hotel. It was absolutely fantastic. They organised the best safari and guide for the national park whilst we were there, the staff made an effort to get to know us. We even booked another night whilst staying because it was so lovely. Rooms are grand and the balcony view was stunning. Food was incredible with many options.

Location of the hotel being close to the national park and elephant transit centre is a bonus. Hotel is very quiet and set in an area full of wildlife especially birds. Room had a double aspect overlooking the lake and distance hill country. Service from staff was very good especially from Chanaka (the captain) and Ravindra the manager.

The bed could have a little softer but we did not mention this to the staff as I am sure they would have changed it.

Very nice hotel. Nothing to complain about. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Food was excellent. Hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious. It was in a beautiful setting and was very quiet. Loved to have stayed longer.

It would have been good if there was a lift.

it was such an amazing experience to stay there. Every single staff were so welcoming and lovely. They’ve been so kind to us while we stayed there and looked after us really well. They certainly want above and beyond! Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. We had a room with a lake view and it was spectacular as we saw a few elephants from there. The food was so delicious. The swimming pool was so clean. The most cleanest pool ever! We will definitely come back again soon! Already looking forward to come back later this year (hopefully). Thank you to all of those amazing staff for making sure we were looked after and giving us the best service.

The pool was spectacular. Overall, the facilities were beautiful. The milk rice was excellent. The dining staff were wonderful. We really really appreciated the delicious gift of home-made cookies on departure.

The breakfast and lunch menu were a bit uninspired. Absolutely fine, but not inviting or exciting.
