We had room 7, a queen and a single bed. Very comfy bed and very roomy room. Warm in evenings. Shared bathroom facilities which is fine considering its a dugout and the number of bedrooms in the motel and how dugouts are laid out. All clean and fine. Plenty of bathrooms with showers and toilets. Lovely lounge and dining area. Meals are great. Continental breakfast is fine. Tea and coffee available anytime. Dinner is yummy. Staff excellent. Lovely warm fireplace. Love the display of history of the town. A very unique motel and town. Love the upstairs to view the sunsetting or even rising! Happy to stay here again.

This is an amazing unique experience. It is my second stay here and it had undergone some good improvements since my first stay. The roads to access Whitecliffs have been upgraded which was great. The breakfast was pretty standard for the outback. I liked the improved versatility of the evening meal. Climb the stair way to heaven for amazing sunset views.
I missed the old underground bar set up. My husband was upset that he had no signal in the bedroom! I thought it was pretty amazing that you had signal everywhere else.

This was my second stay at the Underground Motel and it hasn't lost any of its uniqueness. Very friendly reception team, comfortable rooms and bed and interesting interpretive exhibits make it a great place to stay. Most of all, going through the tunnels and sleeping in a dugout is pretty special. Sipping a beer up on the roof as the sun goes down is pretty good too. Since our last stay the road to White Cliffs has been sealed and it's in great condition - better than the roads around the Central Coast!!
The breakfast is pretty basic. Everything else is pretty good.

This was a unique experience in the Australian Outback. We were visiting this region of New South Wales in our camper, and decided a night in an underground motel was going to be fun - and fun it was! It was so much larger than I had expected, with many rooms equating to lots of hallways to connect them. I can get lost easily, so this was quite an adventure for me to find my way around and I loved it. We traversed the 'stairway to heaven' to get up to ground level and take gorgeous sunset photos. The bathrooms, whilst shared, were plentiful and never a wait. They were spacious, clean and modern. Our room was also very spacious with queen bed, single bed, duchess, luggage rack and wardrobe. There was a whole history area of multiple rooms and a huge table to seat 12 that catered for groups. There were many framed stories and photos of the history of the area, and were quite infomative. The Chef made a special dinner to cater to my dietary requirements, and the Manager was very friendly and helpful. All in all it could not have been better for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

It was a fantastic experience. The kids loved the uniqueness of the place. We will definitely come back! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The corridors add to the charm, just fantastic! We also had dinner here and were quite happy, no need to go elsewhere.
I understand the reason for shared bathrooms but obviously everyone prevers their own. When coming out here it's just what you can't have, not a negative really, just a fact so people are prepared when reading this.

The staff were fabulous and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they happily answered any questions about the area and recommended things to do. The facilities were great and very comfortable and very clean. According to my 11year old grandson Matthew was the best!!! So thank you Matthew. We both absolutely loved our stay and hope to return one day in the not too distant future.
That we couldn’t stay longer.

We had an amazing experience! The staff were fantastic - helpful, friendly, smiling and laughing - and really brought the whole vibe of the place up. We were expecting an 'underground' motel, but didn't actually have to go downstairs as it's built into the side of a hill and all on one level. The stairs in my photo go up to the rooftop for a great view. The room was spacious, and although it was described as 'shared bathrooms' they are actually multiple individual bathrooms, so you've still got your own privacy with a locked door, toilet, sink and shower. They were modern and very clean. We ordered dinner, which was a little pricey but good food. There weren't many other options around town!
The bed was really soft, felt like I woke up almost on the floor, but it was warm and cosy despite a cool night. There weren't many facilities in the room, so had to go to the main dining area for any tea/coffee or WIFI. Also not many power points, so charge your power bank before arriving!

I found this an interesting place to experience as an underground stay. It was very very dark inside the room with lights out with a small torch provided on the keychain provided along with the keys. Even in winter, less hot in room than outside. Good selection and plentiful breakfast. As easy drive into other parts of White Cliffs. Shared bathroom as advertised, and was clean. Favourable rates to other places in White Cliffs.
Not suprisingly, no phone or wifi reception in the room itself. Phone reception outside of the building, including on top of it.

Great experience, being in an underground hotel. The room was sizable, well light (once we found the light switches), beds were pretty OK. Not a lot of cupboard space but was fine for an overnight stay. Food was OK.
Being undergraound the bathroom facilities are NOT in your room. We had a reasonable walk to the communal bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms were clean but the walk was annoying late at night.

A great all round experience! Staying underground is novel. Rooms are GREAT! Staff were friendly and helpful. There are practicalities around bathrooms etc that are tricky in an underground space - so I expected sharing (all good!). Have already recommended this to friends!
Coffee is pretty poor (it's what I do for a living...). Training of staff is crucial. There are four elements to coffee - all controllable: quality of machine grinder, quality of water, quality / freshness of beans and quality of barista. If you get all four right, you'll sell heaps. There's not many competitors!!
