All of the staff were excellent - very friendly and professional. The location was superb.

We had a dead (smelly) gecko in our kitchen draw when we arrived - it meant we were not comfortable with the cleanliness of the cutlery etc. The heat in the kitchen / dining area in Room 11 is too much (only fans and no air con). The arrival and check-in process was a little painful in terms of being too drawn out. In fairness, we had better dinners at the Boat Shed than at the resort.

Private island was spectacular with, breathtaking views, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, accessibility to push bikes and water activities for each room and plenty of space for all guests to lounge, enjoy the pools/beach and soak up the sun

The only thing I did not like is that I did not stay long enough! I could not fault anything with the resort

Everything especially the staff. Beautiful blue water, the Vaka cruise that leaves from there. A lovely place to relax and the peace and quiet. The food here is exceptionally good and service from everyone is happy, friendly and made me feel totally relaxed. Would highly recommend The Private Island Resort and Spa and the Overwater Bungalows are just gorgeous. The weather has been beautiful for June sometimes a little bit windy but that breeze was lovely. Everyone very helpful and the tourists here have all been lovely people. I’d love to come back again. 5*. Sue

You can’t improve on perfection 😊.

I have travelled extensively around the world, but my stay at this hotel in Aitutaki was truly the best I’ve ever experienced. From the moment I arrived, the service was beyond anything I’ve encountered before. Every member of staff radiated warmth and kindness, and it was clear there wasn’t a single thing they wouldn’t do to make my stay more enjoyable. The attention to detail, the genuine hospitality, and the seamless way they anticipate your needs made this feel like so much more than just a holiday—it felt like being welcomed into a family. Every interaction was heartfelt, every request was met with a smile, and every moment was unforgettable. If you are looking for absolute perfection in service, setting, and experience, look no further. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high for all my future travels.

Tucked in lovely gardens and rainforest and yet waterfront, the stay had SO many aspects to love! With the shady verandah and amazing views, it's a perfect place to relax! If you're feeling more energetic the free use of facilities such as kayaks and bikes are great. Such a beautiful beach to walk, swim and snorkel! The lovely staff and restaurant outlook are definitely memorable, the meals amazing - It was great to have taken a package including breakfast and daily 3 course meals ... Every dining experience was beyond expectations, hence we had no reason to dine out of the resort! The 5 night stay was the highlight of our month long holiday and we're hoping to save up and revisit again for longer next time!

Although a lovely airport welcoming, it seemed rushed and overwhelming after a long flight.

The location was out of this world. It is the most beautiful spot I've ever been to. The delux bungalow, we stayed in number 26, had a fantastic outlook across the lagoon, with private sunbeds and a hammock. Absolutely perfect. The staff were great, and I'd like to give a shoutout to Mare, Emily and Marty.

Nothing to fault, only that we had to leave.

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel. This is clearly one of the best experiences we had since a while. We have the feeling to be alone in paradise. Each room has access to the beach. We have our own bicycles, canoe, paddle. We have access to the best lagoon of Aitutaki, with cristal clear water. We can go by ourses to other islands with our canoe. We can see turtles not far from the bungalows. Staff people are very kind. A particular thanks to Padi the driver, Mere from the restaurant, Kavita at the front desk. We’ll come back again for sure ;-)

Nothing!!

Location is great with beautiful views over the lagoon. Staff were lovely and really friendly. Knew our names and helped whenever possible. Allowed early access to the resort and breakfast after our early flight into Aitutaki. Good activities to do. Restaurant is good with lovely views (book early for a good table).

Shower needs some kind of curtain because you need to shut the room curtains everytime you shower so people can't see in. Lots of glass around the place especially in one area that was suggested for snorkelling which had broken bottles and was really dangerous. Snorkelling isn't the best so I suggest a snorkelling tour if that is what you are in to (Teking was awesome).

The property was beautiful, clean, and luxurious. We loved the complimentary breakfast, bikes, and airport transfer, as well as the thoughtful decorations, and the enthusiasm for guest-participation in daily and evening activities. There were plenty of lovely lounge chairs and hammocks to enjoy the beach views from, and kayaks, paddle boards, and even an outrigger canoe for guests to take out on the water.

The tiniest thing that we found troublesome about the resort was simply that we felt bad a staff member had to be at the ferry all day, shuttling us back and forth. The ferry itself was quick, easy, and spacious. We just felt a pang of guilt about making someone take us across the little bit of water separating us from the main island.

Location is superb. Staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was OK. We understand the challenges of supply for such a remote location. Dinner menus impressive - they changed each day and offered variety. Activities available were impressive. Enjoyed having bicycles available FOC to use around the resort as well as on the main island. Loved the cultural nights with wonderful dancing, great music and fire dancers.

The standard of the food on the dinner menu wasn't high. We understand, however, that this has a lot to do with supply of produce etc.
