Upon entering the thatched chalet, you are "welcomed" with an immediate view of the bathroom looking out onto the strip verandah, which is a bit unexpected. However, the bathroom itself is excellent—spacious and thoughtfully designed, complete with a safety bar for added convenience. The stairs throughout the lodge are at a user-friendly, perfect height, particularly for vertically challenged people like me, making mobility easy for everyone; there are also ramps for wheelchair accessibility. The swimming pool is a fantastic feature, beautifully laid out and perfect for a long, refreshing swim, with loungers conveniently situated partly in the water and for effortless access into the water. Breakfast is delightful, offering a wide variety of options to satisfy every palate. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful, providing superb service that enhances the overall experience. Additionally, the furnishings and artworks throughout the lodge are impressive, giving it a Namibian experience, and the curio shop is good. Best of all, it is only 2km from the Namutoni Gate.

While the overall ambience of Mokuti is bright and filled with natural light from the many glass windows, the rooms are disappointingly dark. Each room features only one window, resulting in a lack of airflow and a gloomy atmosphere. The wall has a dark grey cupboard on one side of the bed. The room requires a stronger reading light, which is essential for comfort. Additionally, the narrow verandah barely accommodates two people comfortably, despite our family room being booked for three. The tired wicker chairs and tables make it awkward to navigate around outside. In addition, other guests at the chalet next to us had to carefully skirt past us. Furthermore, the prices for meals and drinks are quite steep, which detracts from the overall experience.

We had a great experience at Mokuti Etosha. The food was excellent — we especially enjoyed the freshly cooked oryx, which was a real highlight. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout our stay, with a special mention to the breakfast and dinner cooks who were always cheerful and friendly. The sundowners and game drives were also fantastic, led by knowledgeable guides who really brought the landscape and wildlife to life. The pool area was beautiful and a perfect spot to relax in between activities.

The only downside for us was the deep tissue massage, which unfortunately didn’t meet expectations. Despite asking for more pressure, it remained far too soft throughout. Both my partner and I felt the same — it just wasn’t quite what we were hoping for.

Perfect location right next to the Namutoni gate for Etosha. Staff professional and friendly. Standard room was compact, but spacious bathroom. Mini bar included. Beautiful grounds. Food was buffet for breakfast and dinner, but good quality food. Lunch is either a la carte (great) or buffet if there is a big group in. Unfortunately, we had 1 day of the lunch buffet with inedible meat offerings, I advised Reception and had a Manager seek me out the next day to apologise. Very professionally handled. Cocktails also nice. Very comfortable stay and would stay again.

There was no window to open (couldn't leave the door open), so it was hard to regulate the temperature in the room at night without a/c (April) which made is less comfortable for sleeping.

I loved everything about this place—it was absolutely beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the dinner buffet was a lovely 10/10. My family thoroughly enjoyed the meals. A truly memorable stay.

While the exterior of the property is stunning and beautifully designed, the rooms were a disappointment. They felt outdated and lacked the charm and aesthetic appeal of the rest of the place—it almost felt like stepping into a completely different location. Unfortunately, the rooms didn’t meet our expectations. We also experienced issues with the hot water, which only lasted long enough for one person to shower. That was quite frustrating.

Amazing property. So beautiful and modern with amazing pool area. Room was very nice. Staff were lovely and friendly. Lunch by the pool was nice and buffet food but it was delicious. Breakfast great variety. Location great right outside etosha.

We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and there was no mention of this even though it was in the booking notes. You would think for the price they’d at least put a note in the room but we didn’t have anything. We also couldn’t book in the massage at the spa we had planned as they were closing 4 hours early for some reason. Walked to the reptile park and it was derelict, with no staff or signs to say it was closed. Aircon in the room didn’t seem to work so we were pretty hot and uncomfy to sleep. Manager rectified this with crediting us with drinks and pool snacks. We expected a bit more for the price we paid.

The grounds were in excellent condition and the F&B restaurant very nice. Breakfast was excellent, buffet style, as was the buffet dinner - but I would have preferred an a la carte menu for dinner though. We didn’t have lunch so cannot comment . The pools and pool bar were excellent. All the staff were highly attentive …two in particular stood out: James at the pool bar (friendly, helpful and made excellent cocktails), and Christianna in the main restaurant with her constant beaming smile and ‘nothing too much trouble’ attitude. Having diesel on site was a huge bonus for self drivers like us. Internet good and having their own generator helped with the short power cut we had.

The rooms were a tad on the smallish side but not a drama though. Lots of naughty/cheeky squirrels 😝 trying to steal your food. Everything else was perfect.

The breakfasts were excellent. Loved the freshly squeezed juices. Every single staff member was friendly helpful and professional.

The room we were allocated was really small and dark. We requested a different room as we stayed for 3 nights. Would definitely of negatively affected our stay if we were not moved. Heleni assisted us in changing to a better and bigger room which we appreciated. Dinner we considered expensive for what was offered. Only one roast and no real starters. The rest of the food was good not exceptional.

Loved this place. At the end of a long road trip around Namibia, this was our finale where we needed to relax, and they delivered. The food is exceptional, the best we had in the country. Pool area very relaxing and beautiful. Tennis courts were a huge plus. Wifi works throughout the property, including the rooms, stayed connected with ease during the stay. Staff was amazing, especially Chantal - celebrated my birthday here and they made sure we felt taken care of. Just a ten minute ride to Namutoni Gate at Etosha Park as well.

Gym ended up smaller than expected with a few items out of order which was disappointing. Spa treatments are good but they're a little slow to get going so keep in mind when making a reservation time.

Great location as so close to park and great viewing on the 12k ride to the main payment point Family room very spacious as we stayed for 6 nights so wanted space Relaxing mornings by the pool and then game drives n the afternoon Very good selection of food both for breakfast and dinner with wines sensibly priced We have been coming here since the old Kempinsky days

Very little to be negative about other than some of the vegetables would be better served as against in effect steamed over the hot plate I.e roast potatoes!

Very beautiful hotel. The location is fantastic, right at the gate of the national park, the hotel organizes game drives to the park, the game drive was great. The food at breakfast and dinner is very good, the choice is not very large, but the food is very high quality. I liked Spa services (massages), the pool area is amazing. The staff is wonderful, the girl at the reception should receive the employee of the year award for her helpfulness, warmth and ability to communicate with customers.
