We've stayed at the Schloss Hotel several times over the years. It's a beautiful old hotel just down the street from the Castle. Staff, breakfast, and parking were all great. We walked to a small pub for dinner and the food was excellent, although the people there didn't speak much English. From Braunfels, it's only and hour or so to the Rhine river valley and the scenery along the way is spectacular.

The hotel is under different ownership since the last time we visited and has lost some of its personal charm. The biggest disappointment was the cozy little bar that used to be at a lower level. On our previous visit (over 10 years ago) there was a bartender and the locals would stop in and we could visit with them. it was such fun. On this trip the bar had been moved upstairs, no tap beer, no bartender, no locals and very sterile. There was an honor system to get a soda, beer, or other refreshment. We were the only ones there.

The location is great. The rooms are clean and big enough, the bathrooms with shower are great. We do want to come back.

Overpriced breakfast (18 euros) for what it has to offer (not much variety, really bad coffee). Moreover, worse breakfast I had in a while. Sorry, but for the price we paid, we expected way more - better to go to one of the bakeries nearby (better quality for way lower price)

Beautiful hotel in the center of the city. Not far from a castle. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to explore the surroundings. Definitely suggest hotel for staying.

At least in my room there is no way to get into the shower. It is funny how constructors installed the shower door. The door is possible to open only for approximately 30 cm because of the location of the toilet. Luckily, I managed to squeeze in. In all other aspects the hotel is superb.

Middle of the town, cosy and nice hotel and friendly staff. A general bar/room with terrace which is very convenient!

When arriving there was no parking available & our room had a curtain that didn’t cover the whole window and the other pair was kind of see through, this meant a lot of light in the room in the morning while we wanted to sleep in since we where on holiday.

Amazing location, very clean property, friendly and helpful staff. The facility is well equipped and the parking is a great addition.

Everything was almost perfect. Things I would change: - Give more comfortable pillows - Make the Air vents in the bathroom quieter.

Great central location, recently refurbished the room was clean and modern. We travelled with our dog and they offered a dog bed and bowls.

Shower had a difficult to close door that leaked water when used and they had an insanely early check in (closed at 7pm)

The location was /is superb. It's a lovely old building.

The building becomes devoid of staff after 8pm. With just an emergency number to ring. This was not explained on booking the accomadation. So late arrivals beware.

Hotel outside looks like a mini castle. Great location and has a very cozy cafe. We did not get the breakfast but we took a look. They provide hot breakfast which served bacon and other food. Looked good! Room was spacious & clean and beds were comfy. Hotel has its own parking but we parking all the way next to the castle entrance which is 3-4 minutes walk.

Affordable, spotlessly clean, great location, parking, restaurant breakfast was very good choice of hot & cold buffet. Staff were very friendly

Not a dislike just an observation, tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been nice.

Nice clean hotel with somewhat chic impression. Bathroom was very small but had excellent shower. The room situated on the backside had a comfy bed and a balcony with a lovely view (though not toward the castle). Is within short walking distance of Braunfels castle.

Minor issue for me: a table to put a laptop on in the room was missing.
