Conveniently located an hour’s drive from the Mediterranean coast in a picturesque village. The steam train, whose station is just across the bridge, can be reached on foot. There is an interesting open air market on some days. The hotel was clean and easy to reach with a sizeable pool. Staff/owners very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast can be described as spartan. Another thing (not necessarily a negative) is that on market days the hotel is not accessible by car for some hours.

The owners running the hotel since only three months were exceptionally friendly. The swimming pool and the garden around the pool could have been for a four-star hotel. The room was very quiet, all rooms are on the ground floor. The hotel is installed in an old silk factory, a beautiful building. The breakfast was good (for my wife some savoury additions would have been welcome). The hotel is located close to the village centre, in a very quiet area.

Staff greeted us with a smile. The pool was uncovered especially for us. Breakfast was served rather than self service. We were able to leave the car at the property while we explored the interesting town. The silk museum Masion Rouge is a must as is the market that takes over most of the town on a Tuesday. In addition we found in the museum that our hotel was previously an old silk factory.

We wanted to stay longer.

The shower mousse. Not nice to wash with that and not good for the hair. Also, mistake from booking.com regarding the hours. I was told that the hotel is not opened until 9pm. It closes before that

Comfortable and pleasant hotel, very friendly reception, free parking next to and nearby hotel, spacious light and spotlessly clean room, with remarkably natural-pleasant smelling towels! (a unique thing in this price range where towels tend to have that chlorine odour).

One minor thing only: a hair dryer would have been useful.

Located in a former silk factory, as seen on photos in the public area, the place is functional rather than luxurious but it offers everything necessary for an overnight in this town on the route taken by RL Stevenson with his donkey. It has a nice swimming pool and a good breakfast was provided. It's handy for the steam railway.

No complaints

The hotel is located about 150m away from the main road of St-Jean-du-Gard. The owner of the hotel was super friendly and helped me organise my taxi ride to Nîmes. As I arrived an elderly couple was jumping in the swimming pool. I found that very family like and welcoming. Also there is a small access road (20 meters maybe) from the road to the hotel which means that the hotel is hidden from the (small) main road is thus is super-silent. This was my second stay. The pictures on TripAdvisor correspond perfectly to what the rooms/pool etc are alike.

The building is a bit old. At the same time, the quality/price ratio is above similar hotels I used during my 10day trip through Lozère. This is actually the only hotel with a swimming pool and enclosed cozy garden.

very good continental breakfast with all the things you would expect. Fresh bread, nice croissants, very good coffee, orange juice and local jams including chestnut jam. Room was always clean and air conditioning worked very well. Bathroom was newly refurbished and always clean. This is a small privately owned hotel in a delightful provincial town in southern France, not a Holiday Inn or Premier Inn. Truly delightful owner who was friendly, helpful and attentive.

The pool was very enjoyable after finishing the Stephenson Way (GR70).
