Wide and comfortable room, with room cleaning and fresh sea towels every day. Silent and in front of the sea. In the island of Ukulhas there are nice beaches, an enjoyable reef (despite not the best one), and some points in which you can observe reef sharks, nurse sharks, lemon sharks, turtles, stingrays and many other fishes altogether, quite unique, even compared to other islands.

The island of Ulkuhas is undergoing massive constructions, so there are many building sites that sometime ruin the landscape.

- Beautiful spacious room and a nice private terrace (could not be looked in from the outside) - Very comfortable big bed - Outdoor shower - Fresh towels every day - Water for free in glass bottles - their bit towards sustainabilty by limiting plastic bottle waste - Very very VERY nice people working there, always going the extra mile for you to have a great stay - We LOVED the breakfast buffet, seriously very good selection of savoury things (including always at least one curry on top of the eggs, beans, sausage staple), fresh fruit and sweet things - Great part of the beach right in front of the hotel, with lots of shade and a beautiful reef On a neutral note: we booked the Jacuzzi Suite but the jacuzzi wasn't working so we were offered a manta trip as compensation, which worked well for us - the room was still spacious and beautiful and the trip was a great experience.

-The terrace was very nice and quite big but sadly there was no furniture on it to be able to lounge around and really enjoy it. There were only to small hard-backed, really not very comfortable, chairs and a towel holder and that was it. On the pictures there are some nice swinging chairs, sadly they were't there for we would have really appreciated lazing aroung in them - Building site next door is quite noisy till sometimes rather late in the evening - Bar next door turns up the volume in the evening and it wasn't really our taste of music - during the day they had nice chilled tunes (think Ibiza ambient music) but in the evening it often involved screeching singing and a hard beat

Nice hotel on a beautiful coastline with a bikini beach. The restaurant serves delicious food and good breakfasts. A traditional Maldivian dish has become our favorite dish, now I cook it at home! Nice relaxation area! Best owner and staff! We stayed in 2 different rooms: 1) Deluxe Room (on the 1st floor) 2) Villa with Garden View (pics on the bottom) Villa with Garden View - The Best room! Deluxe Room (on the 1st floor). 1) There was a slight smell of dampness 2) A broken sofa on the terrace (which was impossible to sit on because it had no bottom and it was all hidden 3) cockroaches.

Nice, clean and bright room. Water for free. Daily change of beach towels. The beautiful bikini beach is literally ten meters away. Also ten meters from „beach blend“ for a good coffee. Good and reasonable restaurants in five minutes walking distance. They have there own dive club which provides exceptional dive service&staff!

Common area quite dark which attracts a lot of mosquitos.

We had our room upgrade to a beautiful large room with large bathroom and balcony, it was great! Close distance to the beach like 10 metres and I think that was also the best part pf the beach! Nice beach bar with music just next to it! Staff were amazing, really good place to stay! Air conditioning. Transport from and to boat upon arrival/departure was a nice addition with the local vehicle- good occasion to video record that trip showing also the island streets! Thank you to the host for organising for us boat trip with some water activities!

Great hotel with super friendly staff and clean rooms right next to the beach. They offer free water whenever and as much as you want. Cozy beds... After this hotel we went to another island in a 5 star resort. The service in west sands was much better then here. The food was delicious. We booked breakfast and dinner and we could change to lunch and dinner because we sleep quite long. The owner is really helpfull and helped us with booking speedboats to other island and even from there to the airport a week later We were very satisfied. Thanks for everything!

Overall it is very good, probably the best accommodation on the island. Housekeeping staff is perfect, they clean rooms daily and professionaly, they provide towels daily. Excellent excursion organization, the manager of the excursion is a nice calm guy, keeps his word and promises.

There are a few areas that could be improved, like more furniture on the balcony (comfy chairs/sofas to enjoy the balcony). Improve bathrooms a bit, keep privacy in mind (more shading covers), especially when nearby huge hotels get completed.

Very nice accommodation in Ukulhas. We were a family with 2 snall kids together with a couple for honeymoon. The location on the island is the best having the best spot on the whole bikini beach just in front of the hotel. It is nice shade coming there from the palm trees which are spread perfectly to protect us from the sun. Just before entering the sea there is place if you want to catch up the sun. There are sunbeds for free,2 hamac swings and one swing. Moreover there is the best beach bar just there Ocula. They make a great atmosphere suitable for family with kids as well by playing (not loud) nice music, offering lovely fresh juices at good prices (1 fresh is 3USD, 2 coconuts are for 3 USD). So there is a great ambient just in front of the hotel. Entering the water there you can see all kinds of coloured exotic fishes, even some small sharks which are not dangerous and we spot 2 turtles too just before the sunset. Corals are quite dead, but still very nice to snorkle in front of the hotel. The restaurant is pretty good having decent prices. We had the seafood platter once which was delicious. Personnel there is very nice and friendly. Cleanliness is another positive aspect of the hotel. Day trips recommended with them. Did the island across Velidhoo and in another day swimming with manta ray, snorkeling safari and picnic at a sandbank on sunset. Good prices and very good quality of the services getting amazing videos and experiences under the water with the day trip staff. We got help both ways with the luggage havibg a transfer buggy from the port to the hotel. Staff is very friendly from the hotel owner to the guys doing day trips with us, waiters, room keepers, really everybody. When we checked out we went to say bye to everybody as they were like a big family for us. This is all into detail what we experienced. Highly recommend it! Island is also very nice.

My stay at West Sands was truly magical. The hotel staff arranged a convenient round-trip speedboat transfer from the airport, and we enjoyed a 20% discount on the normal price. The meals were both healthy and delicious, with plenty of fresh vegetables. Just a short walk through a lush patch of bushes led us to the famous bikini beach, where we loved relaxing on the soft white sand and watching small fish swim in the clear water.

Although our room was a bit dated, it was perfectly clean and cozy. While there were some renovation sounds from the developing Ukulhas Island, they were more of a gentle hum than a distraction. Overall, it was a refreshing holiday, and I highly recommend West Sands for a lovely escape!

Unique location, just in front of the beach. You can easily reach the sea in 10 feet. It also has several kiosks, little cafes and shops nearby.

Breakfast closes at 9.30am. It might be protracted until 10 or 10.30am for allowing a better comfort and relaxing wake up during the morning
