This was our honeymoon and Jakes couldn’t have been more accommodating! The food was great and different local menu every day, spa treatments were fabulous and the location stunning! The bed was super comfy and our little bungalow so funky and cool. We were close to loads of local attractions - YS falls, Appleton rum estate, black river safaris and lots more Thank you Jakes!

The grounds were well cared for and felt quite intimate and like a quaint village off the beaten path in Jamaica. All the bungalows are unique, brightly-colored and comfortable, giving that island vibe. It isn’t overrun with guests. My family could fully reset in peace with plenty of rest. The food at Jake’s was always excellent. The staff were friendly, accommodating and attentive.

Sometimes, it felt too isolated, like I would have liked to get access to taxis to ride into town, for sundry drinks and snack items or just to see the neighborhood.

Cool hotel! I liked it that the rooms are all in different little huts and houses. That makes it feel even more intimate than it already is. The staff was all very nice, too! I also liked my room and the area around the sea and the bar felt lovely as well.

Not much really. It didn't feel like there were tons of options for eating out in the surrounding area but I only had a short stay so maybe just didn't have the time to properly get around.

We were off the property at the Seadragon house. There is a pool and it is a gorgeous house. Kay is the chef and housekeeper and made us wonderful breakfasts and an awesome dinner. She will make exactly what you want and is very professional and friendly. We walked to Old Warf Beach from the house. You can look for shells here and have a nice beach walk and there is a little swimming section. Friendly people and dogs on the beach but not very many. It is very private. The food is excellent at Jakes and everyone is super friendly and wonderful. One roundtrip ride to the resort free if you stay here. Totally safe and relaxing.

I think my kids would have preferred to stay on the property as opposed to off the property but Adrian our driver was excellent, friendly and professional. You get one round trip ride to the property and he will pick up food (good pizza!) for you too if you want it.

The location is amazing!! Sunset is not be missed, and the natural beauty that enveloped our cabin, tantalized the auditory and visual senses— the roar of the Caribbean Sea crashing against the low cliff 15 feet away from our veranda is the ultimate. No TV in our cabin was perfect! The outside shower we found interesting…. private, but the stars are visible at night!!! Walking around the property, we felt the peace and tranquility—the perfect vibe, if you desire that kind of ambiance.

Some loud music from nearby club on Saturday night into early hours. We were unable to book a massage and the staff there were not solution-oriented.

Unique atmosphere, friendly staff. Great food. Attached beach is fantastic.

Bit remote, roads on Jamaica in bad condition. Ocean can be very loud at night.

We arrived late in the evening on a public holiday after the restaurant had closed, but we had children and traveled in a large group. The helpful guy at reception (sorry can’t remember his name) spoke to the chief and arranged something for us! He then drove us around to our amazing villa (Tree House). The staff here were also excellent, not in your face, but not stand-offish. Thank you all.

The amenities were a bit scarce, but I’m sure I would have been accommodated if I had asked for more. Also, a mini fridge wouldn’t have gone amiss in the master room.

Great and very reasonable Restaurant. Wonderful location and setting. Our cottage was spacious and well appointed. The complex is filled with mature and interesting plantings and trees. The views are unsurpassable. We didn't get a chance to use the spa (reserve as early as possible) but the setting, open to the sea, was magnificent.

The pool was more of a dipping pool than a real pool that could be used for exercise. It was surrounded by a great deal of foliage and debris constantly fell into it. While the foliage and trees on the property were amazing, and the pool was skimmed regularly, it was not particularly inviting to guests who wanted to swim. Kids loved the pool.

Perfect location, friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful cottage, home from home feeling.
