Central location in Västervik . Large free parking lot. Electric vehicle charging on the parking lot next to the hotel. Well equipped and nice kitchen with lots of fridge space for visitors. Great breakfast in the morning. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very nice and friendly staff.

Not a bad thing but something to be aware of, the “cell” rooms are tiny (which is clearly stated in the description on the hotels website). it’s hard to move around inside and there isn’t any room to store clothes etc. no blackout blinds so it may be hard to sleep during summer.

Interesting novelty hotel in a good location, ten minutes walk from town centre. Lovely staff at the reception, felt welcomed on arrival. Liked the free coffee and cake station in the reception area. Spacious double room which was newly decorated. Good beds and very nice toiletries. Great community kitchen where you could have cooked your own food if wanted. Free uncomplicated parking. Loved the prison themed decorating.

A bit warm in the room, no air conditioning.

This historically themed hotel is both nicely decorated, according to the former function of the building as a prison and clean - sustainable. The staff is friendly and really keen on informing their guests of their hotel's past. The breakfast was tasty and with a large variety of fresh food. The boutique they maintain in the reception hall is offering interesting niche products at a good price. Another unique aspect of this hotel was the small exhibition room that shows how a prisoner's cell looked like in the past. The location is also one of the advantages that this hotel offers, because it is close to all the points of interest for culture, shopping and food.

Perfect location, right next to the train/bus station. Super friendly staff. Very good ratio price/quality/location. Good choice for breakfast. Practicality-we'be been to fancier hotels that lacked hooks for towels or had dumb fancy showers leaking all over. Here there was no luxery but everything we needed like space to hang wet towels, space to put your own cosmetics etc. The room was tiny, but we were there just for one night and we were happy with it. Its a plus that it has a common kitchen and a darts room and board games-for the next trip with friends it's the perfect place

Would have liked a system to could open the window (though there is a ventilation thingy on it that u can regulate). The bed linens were clean, nothing to complain about- but maybe the pillows/matrasses need some fresh air/sun. Don't imagine anything groose, its i guess just being in between thick walls all the time. Some extra shelves if people are staying more than one night would be good, like the room have a lot of vertical place-i guess this applies to the old cells room, they have bigger rooms than the one we stayed

To stay in a former prison is an interresting experience. I took one of the smallest "cells" and it was more than OK. Not much space but enough. Well equipped bathroom with shower. With a big sense of humour the management presents the "former prison". Thick concrete walls make sure your are not disturbed by your neighbours. Friendly personell in the reception. Walking distance to the city centre of Västervik where you find a lot of nice restaurants. Excellent breakfast.

That it was right in the centre of Västervik, and there was a free car park on site. Also, Im glad i experienced staying here.

Nothing against the hotel, but it took some time to get used to the fact you were in a cell, very small and darkly painted. This, I'm sure, was for authenticity.

The location was very good - a lovely town. It was a novelty staying in a former prison. Great value for the money - the room was comfortable (we stayed in a room, not a cell), the breakfast was totally adequate. Just a short walk to the centre of the town and a selection of restaurants. We would certainly come back for another visit.

Breakfast bar was beyond amazing. Everything perfectly cooked, presented and tasty!

My single cell was (as would be suspected of an ex-prison cell, mind you!) slightly smaller than I was comfortable with to be honest. I enjoy a bit of yoga in the morning and that was not physically possible unfortunately.

Unique, assumed it was another hotel, not a former prison. Rooms were old cells, so small. But I managed, very comfortable bed. Staff was great, ample PARKING spaces. Breakfast was excellent.

Room was small and a little cramped.

Great breakfast, comfortable beds, very close to town centre, friendly staff in a very unique hotel.

Bar could've been open a little later than 9pm.
