Baracoco Bungalows is beautiful accommodation overlooking Bara Beach. The staff are amazing, present, helpful, friendly and professional. They are also fantastic cooks. The regular menu is excellent, but they also have delicious specials. They once made me fresh new boiled potatoes in garlic and parsley butter sauce, which was not what I was expecting in South East Asia and made a tasty change from rice (which I like, but I appreciated the diversity of cuisine here). They also made the best gado gado I had in Indonesia. The sea view ocean front bungalow I had was wonderful, affording beautiful views out over the cerulean-blue Flores Sea. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bungalow kept cool by fresh sea breezes and a fan. Air conditioning is not necessary at all, the temperatures are perfect. It's an exciting five to six hour drive from Makassar, the contrast between tradition and modernity, people travelling in horse drawn coaches next to massive wind farms generating renewable energy, is fascinating. This is the perfect place to escape winter, and I spent three weeks here, and a total of a month in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Lovely bungalows over looking Bara Beach. The bungalow is set up really well. 2 hammocks which is great so we didn’t have to fight over who got the hammock. Plenty of shelves and hooks to put your stuff. Comfy beds. We were there in low season so there weren’t any other places open that were close to us so we ate at Coco every night. The staff are lovely. The beaches lovely and the sea was great. Diving in the area is fantastic!!

Rahel, our hostess was very very responsive in answering to all our queries prior to our arrival at the resort. She assisted us in arranging for transportation to Makassar airport and hiring a boat to Liukang Island, she was extremely efficient and helpful. Breakfast was awesome and plentiful. We have an excellent sea view from our room and we loved the hammocks too. Sharil and the boys were simply amazing, always willing to assist with a smile! We had an amazing time.

No hot water

We picked a sea view bungalow. The bungalow had an amazing porch with two hammocks. These were great to chill in and enjoy the sea breeze. The room was big with two fans, AC wasn’t needed when we stayed in November. The food was super tasty and cheap - recommend the banana pancakes for breakfast. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.

The power would go off for a few hours around midday. This didn’t cause us any issues but if caught unawares could be a little annoying.

It was divine to arrive after a fairly long trip and be met by sea views and cold welcome juice! The outdoor area of the bungalow was really comfortable and I loved the hammock! I enjoyed all meals and was helped access diving etc. they also cared for me when I was I’ll. Great care taken.

It might be restrictive to preorder dinner but it worked well for me. The set breakfast time I was able to negotiate if diving early.

There has been so much love put into this place. It is absolutely beautiful. The bungalow is big and has a great view with two cozy hammocks to enjoy it on. The beach is only a couple flights of stairs away. We had the beach completely to ourselves, making it a very special experience. The staff are so friendly and the food was amazing. All in all it was worth the stay and we would’ve loved to stay longer!

Amazing location right next to the beach. The staff is very nice and helped us to arrange a motorbike and transport back to Makassar.

The bungalow is not really closed off so there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room and bathroom. Our bungalow was next to a bungalow for big groups so there was quite some noise on Friday night.

We were there a few days just chilling in the area and we had a great experience in this place which was very comfy and clean, the workers are very nice and very good at theirs jobs, and the owners are very nice and attentive people

Very nice bungalow just in front of the beach. Simple room but very clean and with what you need. Staff is super nice, very helpful and they spread a good atmosphere. A big thank to Syraha who was very kind.

The bungalow are very nice and mine was with ocean view. Very nice and a pleasure stay in baracoco. The staff is very friendly and ready to help you any time.
