It was an excellent experience that we had in our stay at Calypso. Good thing I changed hotel and it wasn't a miss. The staff are great, all smiling and greeting you. Special mention to Josefa at the reception, he made us stay like kings. He is one of a kind. You will have the gym with friendly staffs, the pool and the steam bath to make you feel more pampered. Food is great specially every sunday buffet. Breakfast is nice though they can still improve on this for not repeating everyday menu. I have stayed 14 days and the same breakfast everyday or maybe its just me. Nonetheless, Calypso is highly recommended.

the city doesnt offer much places/hotels to stay and relax so Calypso is the rare hotel that would provide good standard service for the area. the staff is welcoming and helpful the room is spacious and comfortable , I really enjoy having both bath and shower

I did not like the state of the gym: very dusty, rusty and smelly. no air con it was very hot and humide. the machines are very old and need to be replaced by new ones (for the rate that we pay we expect a decent/ international gym service/standard) I did not like the fact that the curtains were not blackout I was awake by the sun quite early. I would appreciate a blackout room as the main purpose of booking a hotel is a good night sleep.

Service was great. Food was excellent. Room was spacious and well lit. Shower was fantastic.

We were in a room at the edge of the hotel with a poor wi-fi signal which was quite annoying. The "king bed" was just 2 twin beds moved together which was ok but the fitted sheet was too small so it would not stay on. Desk was a little small and the desk chair was hard and uncomfortable. The "couch" was just a twin bed with pillows and was not comfortable for sitting. A real couch would have been nicer.

Everyone was helpful & friendly. The person at reception was great, I think his name was Modeste or something like that. He was learning English sayings that really made us laugh each time. Great place to stay & to eat.

The manager was friendly and seemed taking good care of the hotel. The staff are also friendly. The rooms are small but clean. The meals are also more satisfactory than other hotels in Tamatave.

Seeing the cockroaches in the swimming pool made me worry about the hygienic issue of the entire hotel.

Mr Josefa and his team made the stay comfortable. They were accomodating for my requests and organised everything from team dinners, to local transportation amongst other things.

Very friendly and accommodating staff in what is likely to be the best hotel in down town Toamasina. Excellent cook serving a bland of dishes to everybody's taste.

Food was excellent, location was good. Lots of barking dogs across the street that you can hear if you are in a room that faces that side.

On my second stay, the shower tile was moldy on the floor. The first bathroom was exceptionally clean however.

The cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the modern furnitures and infrastructures, the security available. I felt safe being there

The tv would be better if it had more channels
