No problems with wi-fi. Temperature control worked well, in Nebraska in January. Adequate desk and tabletop space. Good lighting. Bed very comfortable: firm mattress, pillows neither too firm nor too squashy, blankets a little heavier than is usual in motels. No problems with noise.

One minor complaint about the shower. After I'd pulled up the knob to switch from the tap to the shower, there was still considerable flow from the tap. The shower flow was adequate, but might've been better; and the hot water running out the tap was wasted. Might need to replace a gasket or clean the scale out of the tap apparatus?

Breakfast was good. Biscuits and gravy, oat meal, muffins (banana and nut was very moist and good) of various flavors. Fruit and fruit juices were available. Also different types of coffee. Only thing is we were there over a weekend and they don't start the breakfast room until 6:30 am on weekends and our meeting was at 7:00 am which didn't leave much time to eat. Staff were outgoing and happy to help with whatever was needed. Very pleasant folks to deal with.

Only thing at issue was the lack of decaf coffee and normal brands like folgers.

Location was the best. It was about 1/2 mile from the high school track which was open to the public (my husband and I are runners), and the YMCA was right next to it. Great facility, equipment and indoor pool.

Not sure if this was something that the hotel could control, but sometimes the water was brownish? So sometimes toilet and shower did not look appealing. It would clear eventually, so I don’t think we could fault the hotel on that. Breakfast was okay. It had some hot meals like biscuits and gravy and occasional sausage patty, but we stuck mostly with hard boiled eggs and toast.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. This is an older hotel and is dated but doesn’t feel tired or worn down like others tend to do. It’s also very quiet, which is nice. There’s no bells or whistles and the free breakfast leaves much to be desired but McCook is small town and getting around from the hotel is easy. I’ve stayed here a couple times and never had any issues.

Breakfast options include biscuits and gravy or grits - I’m not sure, didn’t look appetizing to me. Otherwise it was a typical continental breakfast style set up with packaged oatmeal and muffins, bread, yogurt, juice and coffee.

I woke up long before dawn and was working on my laptop in my room. At 6:30 a.m., a member of the staff knocked at my door; she explained that she'd seen the light on, and thought that I might be gone. Although I wasn't awakened or seriously disturbed by this, it's still far too early for that sort of thing.

Good location—easy to reach, no problems with highway noise. Comfortable room, plenty of hot water, no problems with wi-fi. Friendly staff, and a pleasant-tempered cat.

No problem at all for me, but there're cats on the premises; people with serious allergies, or those who just have an aversion to the creatures, might want to look elsewhere. (On the other hand, the yellow one's good with people and likes being petted as you pass to and fro through the lobby.)

Great location, mostly clean and very good staff. Everything in the room worked and the basics were well covered for a very reasonable price.

Tried the included breakfast once out of the five-days stay and not a huge fan of mostly starchy selections. Not really a big cat person but the guests with dogs did provide some local entertainment when they met up with the three resident staff cats. Turned on the room heater one chilly night and the recently cleaned equipment with its chemically treated solution produced fumes that set off the room’s fire alarm. Thankfully it was early September but they may have some issues as things cool down this fall.

Comfortable room; near highway, but no problems with noise. Shower worked well. Beds and pillows comfortable. Wi-fi worked just fine. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast ample. Friendly yellow cat in lobby.

No complaints from me. Note that there're cats on the premises: travelers who're extremely allergic or who really dislike cats might want to take that into account.

You know that astringent feel of a corporate/chain hotel? Horse Creek Inn didn't have that, at all. It was a welcoming atmosphere, right down to Mr. Butters, one of the hotel's resident kitties, who helped me sign in. My room was sparkling clean, and had been recently painted. The breakfast was amazing--the kind where you want to take a nap after you've sampled everything they had to offer, from biscuits and gravy, fresh fruits, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, to juices, etc. The staff was wonderful, and the WiFi was fast. As for the price, it was less than 75% of what I have paid in the past for a chain hotel just up the road, possibly because there is no indoor pool or fitness room, but I required neither.

Mostly everything. We have spent many nights at this hotel in the past few years without any issues.

Very noisy family in the room next to us the second night we stayed. Had to call someone at the desk to give them a visit after 11 pm (after over an hour of kids running, jumping, stomping, and loud talking and television turned up high). * we had been sound asleep before they came back to their room.
