We stayed with friends in the Callana and Euro cottages, the Echo was a duplex and the better of the two. Perfect quiet location the Euro had great views from the outside covered courtyard and a large table for eight, with the Euro "Cottage" It is a duplex. The kitchenware was exceptional as we self-catered. We did a couple of walks very worthwhile. Whatever you do if Alex Hine is giving the Cosmos talk it's a real bonus he is amazing. We were joined by 150 motorcycling friends, most camped on the rocks. Great place for a group the catering was great considering the numbers.

I would like to see a location map of the site showing accommodation locations etc.

Loved the location, walking trails and 4wd tracks. Views were gorgeous and stargazing and observatory tours were very informative. We had issues with recent rain closing the roads for a couple of days but the staff were helpful and gave us options so we could still have a 3 night stay even though we were delayed. Food in the restaurant was also really good. Facilities were very good throughout and plenty of hot water and rain water for drinking.

The restaurant is very expensive as is diesel but given the location you’d expect higher prices. The Callana Cottage could do with a little love and attention, or even be turned into pet friendly accommodation. Little things were missing from the motel room and cottage, like hooks for hand towels, drying rack for washed clothes and sharp knives in the kitchen but we managed. One suggestion we do have is for there to be more than one washing machine available to guests as we waited all day to use a machine.

Arkaroola resort is a very special place to stay. We stayed in Greenwood Lodge which is basic but excellent value for money. We made full use of the shared kitchen facility and common dining area. The activities offered by the resort, including astronomy, Ridge Top tour and scenic flights make Arkaroola accessible to everyone. They also have fuel. The staff were all amazing. I can't praise them highly enough, and the restaurant offers really excellent cuisine at very reasonable prices. I can't recommend Arkaroola Resort highly enough.

The only improvement I can suggest would be a greater range of pots and pans and cutting knives in the shared kitchen.

The Ridgetop Tour was amazing with knowledgable guides who also happened to be great drivers too. Sunset from Griselda Hill was great as was the ability to hike from the centre in a loop. The kitchen facilities meant we could be pretty self sufficient and make the trip more economical. The staff appeared genuinely happy and were very helpful.

The star gazing experience was disappointing. Should have opted for the cheaper seats as there were mechanical issues with my star gazing chair and binoculars. The experience was a very uncomfortable one. Unfortunately the moon was also quite high and bright this was the first and last night we could do the tour.

This was a once in a lifetime trip for us, as my partner was keen to do the stargazing, which is world class. We were only scheduled for two nights in what is a remote area, and unfortunately it rained, which saw the stargazing cancelled. The road out was subsequently closed, which meant we had to stay for a further two days. We were given a discount for the final two nights, and fortunately the weather then allowed for the stargazing to go ahead. Very comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Nothing. This place is spectacular.

We prepared our own meals in the kitchen at Greenwood Lodge. But we had one meal at the restaurant, which was excellent. The guides seemed to have a post graduate level knowledge of geology, ecology and astronomy.

Perhaps a few tables and chairs could be placed in the inner part of Greenwood lodge's conference area, so that the kitchen is only used for food preparation. This would relieve congestion in the kitchen.

Everything, staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The Ridge Top tour with Pierre was fantastic. We had an amazing 75 min flight with Doug over Arkaroola and Lake Frome, what an amazing guy, so passionate and so knowledgeable, also did an observatory tour. Sunset canapés with Russell was beautiful. Close encounters with the endangered yellow footed rock wallabies was wonderful. Food in the restaurant was exceptional

Nothing negative

A true sanctuary, but also a full educational or exploration experience! So many things to do; long and short walks, geology galore, 4WD tours abound. At night three options to see the night sky, in one of the darkest BEST spots in the Southern Hemisphere. All delivered by friendly and knowledgeable guides. Many accom options. Above average restaurant with really fresh and delicious food was a splendid surprise, but we could also cook in the shared kitchen. BEST was to see and experience rocks which are some of the oldest ever, in an amazing landscape. Wildlife and birds and flora are all must sees.

Would have given a full 10 if there had been some cups and bowls and matches in the shared kitchen, a bit frustrating! And it is really hard to conserve the precious non-sustainable water supply when the only sink is almost as big as a bath - please fit a small sink maybe? We saw people wasting SO much water...... full bore for minutes on end..... distressing

Amazing area . The astronomy aspects were excellent. We had the $90 a night accommodation. Very basic but fine for 2 nights. The communal lounge and kitchen adjoining the room was very good. The dining room was very good we ate there with nights. Reasonably price meals .

All on site activities were quite expensive. But it is in a very remote area. The Ridge Top Tour was excellent, but it was very squashed in the vehicle. Views were amazing

The location is good, I can see the milky way at night time. It would be good if I had time to spend a few more days in the camp site. Very good value for stay compare to the stay at Wilpena Pound Resort.

We did a trail walk through Springa Mason trail, and spotted a baby snake right make me feel quite uncomfortable. Also the flys are so annoying. The place is good, just some of the nature I don't like.
