This is a great little family-run hotel, two minutes walk from a great beach in Diafani, a hidden gem on the island of Karpathos. Mike, the proprietor, is a super nice guy (fluent English) and really goes the extra mile to really make his guests feel welcome - the hotel is immaculately clean (white marble) and everything is in perfect working order. There are great restaurants (Αnamoessa is the best, and great value too). There are several boats (Mr. Balaskas runs one) and they do excursions to local beaches - these are virtually empty! It takes a little longer to get to Diafani than to the hot tourist spots but you will find its worth it - mostly Greeks on holiday (and a few Europeans) so really relaxed and 100% authentic - we will definitely be back!

I liked how it felt like home. Owner was very kind and informal. He showed me a few trails and recommended a beach on my last day that was easy to get to after so many long hikes the previous days. He answered all my questions patiently and gave me a real feeling for why people live to be such and old age on this beautiful island. He gave me a ride up to Olympus which was ideal and gave me a little tour. The rooms and the balcony are big.

My internet never worked properly in my room. I had to be in the bathroom or work in the dining room. The owner was gracious enough to let me stay in the dining room area after hours to accomplish my work. This was not a problem in all rooms as I asked other guests.

Air condition and also the town tax did not included on the roomprice although it supposed regarding to booking.com. It was extra charged over the room price. Not easy to get from the airport and the taxi takes like 130euros in one way.

The staff member we met was very friendly, the room was basic but very clean and the verandah had a nice view to the mountains. The beds were extremely comfortable, the fridge was very handy and there was a water cooler in the hotel to fill our water bottles. I enjoyed a simple but nice breakfast and the coffee was lovely and it was included in the price. The hotel is 2 minutes from the beach area and tavernas and a few minutes more to the harbour. We were there only one night but could easily have stayed a few more and would have loved to go out on the owners boat trip. Maybe next time.

We didn't have hot water when we went to shower...likely it could have been easily resolved if we asked. I was quite happy with the simple breakfast and particularly loved the yoghurt and honey, but my husband is harder to please and would have liked some cereal to be offered.

Vasilis and Evgenia are very kind hosts and are prepared to help where they can. Communication with hosts very good. Breakfast is served on the balcony in pleasant surroundings. Although not a seafront hotel, it is just a few steps to the beach and restaurants. We had a very enjoyable stay!

All the staff was very friendly, especially Ms Evgenia who did everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Mr Vasilis is an guide for the the day trip to Saris.

The air condition was new and the bed was comfortable. We had great time during our stay.

We had to make our own coffee in our breakfast, mixing water with milk etc. There was a tax (very minor) but it was included in booking charge, even though we had to pay it at the hotel too (crab tax).

Spotlessly clean, very central place in Diafani. The breakfast is huge and the lady owner lovely. Fast internet. They also organize trips to Saria island with their boat if there are enough people.
