Clean and well-presented, everything was quite new. I liked that there is a cafe and shop on the ground level, it made it quite a friendly place as the rest of Ryotsu was totally dead midweek in winter. t was only a short walk from the ferry. The staff was helpful. Ryotsu is regarded as just a port but I found it charming, I have a lovely day just walking around looking at the town and the beautiful scenery nearby. The sports shop near the harbour was the only place open for dinner but I had to get in before 18.00.

I was on my own in the dorm, it would have been very crowded if it was full as there was no floor-space for bags and only a small locker for each bed. The kitchen now has no equipment in it, you can't do anything except heat up food in the microwave and use the jug. There is not even a knife. I think they closed it during corona virus and never reopened it. It is quite disappointing for a hostel, as you expect to be able to prepare some simple food for yourself. There is also no food places open in the town in the evening and the 7-11 is a long walk away, so be prepared. Nobody offered me a towel, so I used a small one of my own.

The guesthouse is very near Ryotsu Port. Since I arrived early, the guesthouse allowed me to leave my luggage before check in. I stayed at an 8-bed mixed dorm, but there was only another guest in the room (a big plus for me!). Each bed is provided with a small locker (can fit a backpack). The bunk bed had curtains for privacy. Each bed had a lamp and a power outlet. Access to the room is through a keycard. Outside the dorm room are the common areas: 2 dining tables, a kitchen, 2 toilets, 2 shower rooms, 2 sinks with hairdryers. Many rooms share these common areas, but since the guesthouse wasn't full, there was always an available toilet/shower room.

Towels are not provided.

Have to negotiate a flight of stairs. Staff member did help bring up some luggage. Have to pay for coffee. Breakfast could be a bit more substantial.

Amazing place, friendly and clean. The pictures on booking look horrible, but the place is really nice and modern.

More than a guesthouse! It felt like a modern and trendy hotel. I was also surprised about its free toiletries such as the cleansing oil and spa gel skincare.

Currently, the pots and pans, utensils, and plates in the kitchen cannot be used. But it’s understandably due to Covid.
