Very good location and nice staff

The breakfast doesn't follow a standard, there are days when the food is good and there are days when it isn't. the hotel needs renovations. The pool area is not cozy. The bedroom bathroom doesn't have a real window and not all rooms in the same category have safes.

The location of the hotel is right on the street across from a long stretch of brushland leading to the beach. I could see the ocean from my room, but even though it's as close as you can get, the ocean's still a fair distance away. Although a little small, I appreciated the pool. The breakfast was decent, and the people there greeted me each day. In general, the staff at the hotel are friendly and nice.

My overall impression is that the hotel is a little old and ragged, and probably needs some maintenance and update issues resolved. My room had things that didn't work well, such as the porch lock (broken), the bathroom lights (didn't turn off at night - electrical issue it seemed), shower was weak and not really hot (receptionist said on my way out that this could be because I didn't understand the adjustment). There seem to be lots of things that aren't really dirty, but that need to be corrected, like scratches on the floor of my room where the door has scratched too much. Another thing I noticed when I entered the hotel is that it seems dark, especially in the elevator where I later realized the spot on the floor wasn't where someone spilled something but was a feature of the rock floor.
