This is a beautiful, family-run hotel in a charming village. We loved everything about our stay here! So much care went into every detail of the property, from the building materials, to the artwork, to the lovely breakfast provided in the morning. The family seems to take so much pride in the quality of their property and in providing guests with a comfortable stay. The location in the village is perfect for exploring, the rooftop deck provides a great view of the surrounding area, and there is a small parking lot very close to the property. We happened to be staying the night of the summer solstice, and there was an event at the castle at the top of the hill. Music, dancing, food and drink. The local people were friendly and welcoming and it was just a magical evening and one of the highlights of our trip!

Nothing!

Albergo Merùo is a magical place. You’re greeted with such incredible warmth from Biagio and Roberto. They were both so kind and helpful and made us feel right at home. Every detail of the place is beautifully curated with impeccable taste a unique and personal style. Everything is clean and the room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful with a window opening on a view of Morano Colabro on the hillside and another on the other side opening to the street. The breakfast was delicious and served with such care! There was also a gallery showing at the hotel of a local artist named Francesca Russo while we were there and we found her work breathtaking. At Albergo Merùo, you’re welcomed with warmth into an artful, inviting and comfortable space. We couldn’t have dreamed of better !

Everything was wonderful!

One of the best hotels I've stayed in and I have over 1500 stays in Marriott's and another 600 in Hilton's amongst other properties. If you want to be immersed in old Italian culture this is the place, but the bonus is the hotel is 100% moderized and up to date with all amenities. Located in the original village of hills of Morano Calabro that was originally built around 400 AD renovated to 2024 standards. The price was unbelievably low and the owners were the nicest people you would ever meet.

The Albergo and the room and breakfast room were beautifully designed and decorated. The room was large and comfortable. The roof deck was a very nice surprise, with an amazing view! The staff was very friendly. We loved being in the historic center.

The breakfast was good but a bit awkward as it was a buffet but someone served you. As it was off season and a steep walk to any restaurants, and no restaurant's website seemed to accurately state their hours, it would have been helpful to have a list of restaurants open. Though the person at check-in did offer to make reservations for us! And all the restaurants offered to drive us back uphill after dinner!

Everything was perfect, father and son managing the hotel are wonderful hosts and people, they shared their story with us and treated us like we were family or long time friends. The hotel is absolutely immaculate and in a wonderful position in the little town. There is free parking right around the corner. Breakfast in the morning has everything needed, from home made cakes to cheeses, cured hams, fruits and yogurts. Our room was extremely comfortable and the bathroom looked like it was never used, absolutely perfect and sparkling clean with shampoo and soap. We arrived late and wanted to have some dinner, the owner called a friend of his, Renato, owner of a nice little restaurant in town and he offered to pick us up and drop us back after we had a great meal. We really highly recommend it!

Great little boutique hotel. Easy to get to from the parking and best of all it has a lift. Rooms are very nicely appointed with interesting artworks and furniture. Breakfast was simple but adequate as we are not big breakfast people. Town is not touristy but a great stopover if you are traveling in that region.

The bed was just a little too firm for our liking but not a big deal for one night.

Lovely stay in Morano Calabro! The owner of the hotel was very helpful in suggestions for what to visit in town. Breakfast provided a good selection of items (freshly baked cakes!), and the breakfast room was comfortable and appealing. The young man (son of owners) who offered us breakfast was very hospitable and kind. He gave us a great restaurant recommendation. Loved the whimsical art in the hotel. Elevator was appreciated, and parking was very convenient!

Beds weren't very comfortable.

Breakfast was especially wonderful as Bellardo's mama made the pastries which my husband loved. Roberto and Bellardo were both very kind and helpful. I loved the decorating touches all over the property; it made the stay special. One of them is an artist, because the property appeared that way.

The only downside was finding vegetarian food easily. I recommend that anyone who stays there take their car 7 miles to the agriturismo Locanda Nel Parco. It was fabulous for lunch and dinner and a great value.

Beautiful building and decor, warm and kind staff, Roberto's dad was so helpful with our bikes and a lot of fun as well. The breakfast is exceptional - a selection of high quality homemade cakes and coffee, alongside yoghurt and local cheeses. A lovely stay, would love to come back again.

Noise travelled from the neighbouring room, but didn't disturb us too much
