Beautiful location across the canal from the lovely Château. Easy free parking. Friendly and helpful staff on reception (particularly Frankie). Nice bar with yummy free snacks, with opportunity to sit outside. Loved the rather traditional restaurant with good value daily menu as well as a la carte, plus good value wine list. Short walk into Josselin town, which is small but charming. The hotel is in a good location for a pre-ferry stay if you are travelling from north Brittany.

It's an old building. The phrase ' faded grandeur ' comes to mind. Although we were very pleased with the size and comfort of our room it could do with refreshing, such as with some of the fittings. The bed was comfortable - but the mattress squeaked quite loudly on the left side when I moved ! The tea and coffee facilities were poor though. One sachet of powdered milk and one small stick for stirring drinks between two of us ! Yes, we could have asked for more supplies, but these should have been replenished before our arrival. These points weren't enough to spoil our stay, however.

Very nice hotel with a stunning view on the Josselin castle and river, breakfast and restaurant areas are amazing, we had dinner on the balcony just in front of the castle. Breakfast was amazing.

The room was small. The bathroom was even worse. There wasn't enough space to open the door with someone inside, and if you sat on the toilet, you could practically touch the sink with your face. All the pipes were exposed, and when you flushed the toilet, it made a very loud noise. You could also hear other people flushing their toilets in nearby rooms. At the checkout, the staff made two mistakes. First, they made us pay for the breakfast that was included in the room. Second, they made us pay for the dinner that we had already paid for the day before.

The location of the hotel was good with a short (but quite steep) walk into the lovely town. The bedroom view across the river to the chateau was scenic. The room was comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful. It was lovely sitting on the terrace facing the chateau for the evening meal. The breakfast was good with a choice of cooked or continental breakfast with healthy options.

Although the room was comfortable the shower was very tight to get into with a wall and quite a big step up into it, not ideal for older people

Situation, food, staff very friendly and helpful

This was our second stay. This time the bathroom was a downright disgrace. Far too small. Half the area was shower. Shower tray was slippery, you walked into the bathroom straight into the edge of the glass shower partition. The shower head wasn’t fixed to the wall. There was a flappy ill fitting plastic curtain in shower The washbasin was so close to the toilet you hit your head on it. Light went off after 30 seconds needed movement to keep it going. I have never seen any bathroom so awful. On our first stay everything was fine.

Tea and coffee making facilities free bottled water and milk from reception for a cuppa great location we stayed in a room overlooking the chateau it lit up at night excellent bar /pizza across the road the actual town was a lovely place to visit we stayed for 2 nights and wandered around the streets with shops and bars scattered about the chateau is worth a visit you do pay 10 euro to get in but the grounds and location for pictures is fab can see whole of the town from the top of the tower and right along the canal again excellent storage for bikes with charger point there's a garage below the main building which is safe and locked when not in use we paid extra for breakfast which was plentiful buffet style scrambled eggs bacon and continental fresh fruit pastries and tea coffee machine worth the 12 euro

This was a good hotel across the river from the chateau. The parking is across the road with key pad access plenty of space. Good selection of food available in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast.

The room numbers did not match the escape route plan. Our double bed was against a wall other rooms did not have this problem. Our room number was 101 and on the escape route plan 133. The lights in the bathroom came on remotely if visited at night it would light up the bedroom.

The hotel served it's purpose for location ect, (7-8) However i gave it a 10, purely based on the member of staff on the front desk, she was exceptional, went above and beyond when i became poorly late at night, and i cannot thank her enough. She is an absolute credit to the hotel. (Monday 29th april, afternoon/evening) She was rushed off her feet, yet remained so calm and polite, when we witnessed impatient people being rude. Literally cannot credit her enough!

Lack of attention to detail, somebody to just over see the rooms when they have been done. However the wires sticking out the wall which we are unsure if they were live or not, proves a different matter. The bathroom is definitely not ideal for a bigger person and the shower head does not attach to the wall.

Very friendly staff, particularly at reception. We had a wonderful view of the castle opposite, which is why we chose this hotel. We ate very well at the restaurant in the evening (the service was a little slow to start with but got better!)

As others have already commented, the room, and particularly the bathroom, needs "refreshing". If we hadn't had the view, I would have felt less forgiving...

The hotel is very easy to locate, free parking, excellent menu /both plat de jour and a la carte. Breakfast is very good indeed. Situated in a beautiful location and logistically ideal for visiting other parts of Britany. Pricing was exceptionally fair and the staff went out of their way to oblige. Well worth considering as a short or long stay

To be truthful very little other than lumpy pillows ! but even so we both slept really well, very quiet surroundings, little to no traffic noise and windows double glazed.
