- Arriving at the accommodation was very interesting. At first, I received a lot of messages telling me to check in online and not wait at the reception. It was good that I didn't do that. At the reception, I learned that my reservation had been changed without my knowledge, that instead of one large cabin (for 8 people), I had 2 smaller cabins. One employee arbitrarily changed it. The receptionist who was at the reception when I arrived was not interested at first, she only started to solve the problem after I strongly objected to her approach. In the end, we resolved everything with the other receptionist Adela and their manager Tuomo, for which we owe them a big thank you. - too many annoying messages and emails that the resort sends automatically before arrival and after departure

This hotel is in a perfect location on the Finland-Norway border to witness the Northern Lights, and we were lucky enough to see them during our stay! The remote setting, surrounded by stunning snow-covered wilderness, made the experience even more magical. To make it even better, we also got to enjoy the New Year fireworks, which added a festive touch to our unforgettable trip. The staff were incredibly helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. Our room was cozy and warm, perfect for relaxing after a night of aurora hunting. The restaurant was fantastic, serving delicious food that made our stay even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a comfortable, scenic stay with a great chance to see the Northern Lights and celebrate the New Year in a magical setting, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

We have been there in late January 2025 and despite the freezing temperatures outside, the suite felt very cosy and intimate, even if it has big windows with beautiful winter view. Also it has everything you need, with the little kitchen impressively fully equipped. It was spotless clean everywhere, parking space in front of the place, wi-fi was great. For Aurora hunters it's a perfect place, you can walk outside and see it from the frozen lake nearby. We enjoyed our stay there and we'll definitely come back.

Everything was perfect.

I was in Kilpisjarvi for 3 days to x- country ski but my arrival coincided with a big storm so I spent a lot of time snowbound in my cabin. This was quite a pleasant experience as it was well equiped and you could watch satellite TV from all around the world. The central complex had a nice restaurant and the nearby Haltinmaa did a great value buffet. The Arctic Express bus from Tromso to Rovaniemi stops 100 metres away. I hope to return one day and actually be able to ski !

Great location, lovely cabin, peaceful, beautiful views. Friendly locals. Loved the sauna. We definitely got the feeling we were here very out of season (end October), which we didn't mind, as we were there for the hiking. 'Breakfast basket', was easily enough for a packed lunch too.

Asking if we could have breakfast at 5pm (deadline was 6pm) on the evening we arrived, our host seemed somewhat reluctant, but they did deliver the 'breakfast basket'. It's a shame that the temperature can't be controlled at the cabin because it was hot at night, especially in the mezzanine sleeping area. None of this affected our stay that much, which was lovely.

The "iglu" cabin was one of the most amazing spots our family has ever stayed!! The three of these units opened in 2022, and they are designed and outfitted with great amenities. Everything down to the suana, dishes and sound system was high quality. The glass dome over the upstairs bedroom was perfect for keeping an eye on the heavens...Even had heated glass to keep the snow off!

Only wish we could have turned down some of the nearby lights...but it was not bad. We could raise shades from the bottom of the dome glass to block most of the lights on the ground while keeping our view of the stars and northern lights!

I arrived when it was dark, so in the morning, the nice views to Saana fell were a big surprise! The bed was comfortable and I loved there were many different pillows. I did not cook but kitchen seem to be well equipped! I loved the speaker that you can connect to via Bluetooth and listen your own music. Even if close to the village and road ypu feel away and there is enough darkness to ser the northern lights from your balcony. In general, very cozy, comfortable, modern, warm and clean!

Now in mid October is low season for them so the reception and restaurant were not open. Small details to make the stay even more comfortable and cozy: -The two nice big candle holders were missing the candles. -There could be a kitchen towel/kitchen paper roll. -The shower soap was almost empty. Refilling it would be more welcoming than seeing straight away many others have used the same. -Did not understand the function of the tablet. I thought there would be some information brochure about the story of the hotel, things to do in Kilpisjärvi and others.

The location is so beautiful. You see Saana when leaving the cottage, the area is so peaceful, there's sauna, a lot of space and it really just feels like a great place to relax and reconnect with nature. Be prepared to see reindeer walking around your car and cottage =)

The walls are a little thin and if the neighbour cottages are booked, you might hear some noise. The interior is nice, but it's not the most modern.

Super Nice staff, great facilities, fine breakfast.

There was an extremely loud group of Americans in the restaurant, behaving as if screaming is an OK way to communicate with the person next to you. Unfortunately the nice young staff did not do anything to calm the group. I guess they were just as intimidated by the rude behaviour from the US group as all other guess were.

Location was perfect. Holy mountain Saana on the one side, beautiful Kilpisjärvi lake on the other side, several reindeer strolling around. The accommodation had all the necessary things for a pleasant stay. Great location for daily hikes around. Even the Norwegian fjords are a mere half-hour car ride away. Kilpisjärvi is my favourite area in Finland so far - highly recommended for all hiking and nature enthusiasts.
