It was central to great walking tracks, viewing platforms, river frontage and rainforest. It was very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. The receptionist was very welcoming and offered local information.
Went to the restaurant one night for dinner and wasn’t sure if we had to order drinks and wasn’t offered anything from the wait staff. We were shown our table and given a bottle of water and that was the only time staff spoke to us except when we went to pay our bill. We were served our pre-ordered dinner with no conversation or drinks offered. Found our meals slightly over priced considering we had to pay extra for plain rice or salads.

The resort grounds and surrounds are simply stunning. The buildings and rooms also look really nice. The staff were friendly and informative. Proximity to platypus viewing sites cannot be beat.
The mattress was a little lumpy and the shower is quite mouldy. Rooms 15-20 could use handrails on the stairs. It rained a lot during our stay and my partner fell down the stairs twice. No harm was done, but a handrail would have helped to prevent this. There was a notice on the wall regarding a fee for anyone who doesn’t wash, dry and put away their used dishes. Whilst I am not the sort to leave used dishes for someone else, this implies the staff aren’t cleaning them and this makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I don’t love the way the restaurant operates, with the required notice periods, preordering and limited time options. However, even an extra 1 or 2 later slots would be helpful, so they aren’t only open during prime platypus viewing times.

We were able to park outside our chalet. The location was perfect as we had made the trip especially to see the Platypus - we weren't disappointed. Wendy greeted us on our arrival and pointed out on a map where to walk to see the Platypus as well as other points of interest and walking trails. Whilst the unit was not modernised, it was spotlessly clean. The beds were so very comfortable. The journey to get there was spectacular, climbing up the mountain. Would recommend The Chalet for eating/drinking as the views are breathtaking.
Nothing I didn't like.

What is not to like about staying in a rain forest with Platypus on your doorstep! We came to see the platypus and so thoroughly enjoyed the night walk which was taking place the night we arrived. Saw platypus, wallabies, a huge eel and turtles. Accomodation was basic but we knew this when we selected our cabin type. Cabin was clean and the kitchenette was handy to have. This is a beautiful spot in a beautiful part of the world, loved our short stay here and highly recommend it to everyone

Incredible location - literally best on the planet for platypus spotting but also for all other Eungella activities and still not far from Finch Hatton etc, plus you are literally in the subtropical rainforest away (but not far) from any village or town. Staff were excellent - very friendly, very knowledgeable, very helpful. Cabins were definitely comfortable and had everything needed. Restaurant was very good though had to order in advance (but totally understand given covid's impact on tourism here) and the restaurant/lounge area was really lovely with reliable wifi (enough to make a wifi telephone call).
Cabins could be updated - a bit of fraying at the edges (literally) eg curtains, carpet... Bedroom needs a ceiling fan. Disappointing that tours are not running at the moment but totally understand the impact covid has had on all businesses in the area. Wifi is very patchy in the cabins but there is a landline and reliable wifi at the restaurant/lounge.

Platypus!! Host provided info with a map and the best times for viewing the platypus. We went a bit earlier and saw platypus during dusk (4:30 pm) and dawn (5:45 am) mainly at the upriver viewing platform. We even saw wallaby. Facilities had an electric skillet, microwave, and fridge, so we were able to enjoy cooking or own meals with some healthy greens for a change.
Bbq's are wood fire, but there was no wood available.

Very earthy in the most charming way possible. A short walk away from the turtles and platypus that inhabit broken river, alongside the facilities offered and a great restaraunt on site. Can’t go wrong.
Nothing! I think the only thing critique would be lack of reception but who is focusing on that when you’re surrounded by such gorgeous landscape?

The location is perfect to the national park walks and for platypus spotting. The cabins were clean and comfortable and the reverse cycle aircon and log fire in our cabin made it cosy and warm in winter. Staff were helpful and the meal at the restaurant was delicious. We also enjoyed breakfast at Cafe Eden and a dinner at The Chalet - both an easy drive from the Resort. Was a great weekend.

I chose Broken River to see the platypus and I saw the platypus every time I went out. The room was clean and functional. There was a large fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery and dishes, thank you. The place is beautiful, lots of giant ferns and it is quiet, except when a vehicle goes over the bridge. The platypus viewing platforms are an easy walk from the property. I have to mention the full cream milk that they give you for your tea - it is local and delicious. You have to come to Eungella to try the local milk.
I am sorry I did not have more time to stay and do some of the walks.

Room was a good size, dated but clean, nice little kitchenette, comfortable bed, heater & extra blankets. cold & wet when visited but well worth staying, beautiful place. Staff very friendly & accomodating, meals available need to pre-order, no phone reception, wifi worked well. Short walk over the bridge to see the platypus & rainforest walks.
