The hotel is small with <10 rooms, gated, and centrally located in Butare. Checkin was smooth and dinner was started on soon after. The room was comfortable and the shower decently hot. There was a jet tub on the premises and both indoor and outdoor dining surrounded by a garden. The omelette, toast, and coffee breakfast was delicious. It was surprisingly relaxing, having a beer under the pavilion while working on the laptop.

WiFi had some issues, ended up switching to mobile hotspot. The receiptionist was also the manager as well as the chef :-D. He prepared a delicious salad but left the main course (stewed beef and greens) a little to be desired. I'm not disappointed, just found it a little funny and don't blame the guy.

This charming garden oasis on the outskirts of Huye(Butare) was perfect for our combination of business and touring. It’s a short drive (15min) to the city center of this university town. Most of the rooms face a lovely garden courtyard, where breakfast/meals are served, either in a garden gazebo or on an open patio (covered). The food is delicious, staff is friendly and helpful. Nearby attractions include an excellent ethnographic museum and the king’s palace. Should we return to Huye for further interactions at the university hospital/medical school, we will definitely return.

Exceptional breakfast with fresh fruits, eggs as ordered, toast and great coffee. Staff were very attentive to our requests. Very pleasant dining outside on the veranda.

The hotel is off the main road and the roads to it are dirt, ruddy and rough. Not great for taking a walk in the area.

Great little hotel with good facilities. Newer building, clean bath w hot water, kettle and tea/coffee in room, nice public areas, WiFi and breakfast incl fresh orange juice, friendly staff who were responsive after request incl accompanying to local restaurant.

Location / access off rocky unmarked roads difficult in dark, locals helped but guard at gate was busy w other things, staff didn’t offer assistance w luggage on dark garden stairs until requested.

Beautifully landscaped compound with secure parking. Staff are friendly, kind, and helpful. Rooms are very clean. The bed is firm and comfortable. The location is quiet and safe, just north of tbe ethnographic museum. This is a wonderful place to stay.

The driveway is a challenge for the 2wd Rav4 that I rented. On the brick road there is a white sign for the hotel, and google maps will also tell you to turn right here.. Don't. Go to the next driveway on the right, and the hill is easier to climb. At the top, make a right, then a quick left and you are there.

Gorgeous setting with flowers everywhere. It was like a botanical garden! We thought the homemade breakfast was the best we had on our road trip through Rwanda We also enjoyed the ambience of Huye

The road to reach the hotel is an adventure! I would not advise arriving in the dark on the first visit.

Everything . It is clean, it is comfortable, the food is delicious. The facilities are perfect

Maybe a little far from town and the road not being the best if you don’t have a 4x4. Finally we took the other road( at the end of town toward Kigali) and walked 100 meters with the luggage . And so sorry I was there only for one night.

By incident, we booked one night to many and realized only after the deadline for making any changes on booking.com. However, the manager was so very kind to cancel the night we did not need without any extra charges. THANK YOU. As for the place itself, it is kind of an oasis, incredibly well kept with a lovely garden and pavillions where the breakfast is served.

It would have been nice to have a screen door, so we could have kept the door of the room open (the only way to get fresh air into the room) without inviting all the mosquitos in.

I have been to Butare for work, sleeping at Maison Sifa. It is positioned far from the city center, therefore the place is quiet and peaceful. To reach it, You need to walk through an amazing landscape, It gives you the idea of real Africa, and i really appreciated that. They serve only breakfast, however, upon request in the morning, they can also cook dinner for you (paying, obviously). Room are clean and every 2 days they change towel and blankets. Of particolar note, the personnel (Alexis) is exquisitely kind and gentle, a real example of cortesy.

Very peaceful lodging. Often the loudest noise was the chirping of birds. Fine views over the valley and, if you look up in the garden, weaverbird nests in the treetops. The staff was very friendly and responsive to every request.
