We booked an igloo on the lake for one night and it was very nice. The view from the igloo is beautiful and the igloo itself is modern, clean and comfortable with a small sink, a gas stove, a natural fridge, dry toilets, bluetooth speaker, heating system and a comfy bed.It is a really nice experience and we would recommend! The facilities are shared in the main building and were clean. The breakfast was good with different choices for all sorts of diets.

There was a bit of miscommunication about the activities. We totally understand that everything depends on the weather conditions, however we would have appreciated to be informed of the cancellation of the activity that was booked a little bit more in advance. Fortunately we were still able to book something else with their partner company and re-organise ourselves.

Arctic guesthouse and igloo are located just an hour away from Rovaniemi with good access via public transport and just a 10 min walk away from bus stop. The owners of the guesthouse were kind enough to allow us to check-in earlier than the usual time, and provided us with all the necessary information related to the igloo stay. The igloos are situated right on the lake which makes the view surreal. The shared washrooms are clean and well maintained and the bio toilet in the igloo works well too. The bonus point being the availability of free usage of sauna when booking the igloos.

Food options were quite limited. Hopefully they will have more options introduced in future.

The igloo was great, aurora could be seen from the warm comfort indoors. The bed was comfy. The view of the frozen lake was idyllic. Watching the huskeys get ready for their excursions was fun to see. Was only a short walk to main residence for shower and restaurant. For the poor reviews I've read on certain aspects those reviewers need to go stay 5* somewhere as I don't know what they expect from a confined space.

This is not a dislike, rather an observation for other guests. The igloo toilet is a composting toilet and not much room, is ok if you need to go in the night. But it's only a short walk to main building if you prefer.

We stayed in the igloo for one night. Two adults a one 6 year old child. We arrived and the staff explained the igloo well and were welcoming. Would recommend purely for the experience and location.

The breakfast wasn't great and I thinks it could be improved for those that are gluten free. The 8/10 is mainly for the breathtaking location. One thing to bear in mind is that the huskies/snow mobiles were very noisy outside the igloo and ran from 8.30am-10.30pm. Not ideal with a young child but if it was just us adults It would have not been a issue.

We had a perfect, though short stay in the guesthouse. The room was comfortable and warm, the breakfast was tasty and hearty, WiFi was working fine. But the main thing was the LAKE !!! There are ski tracks for cross-country skiing just by the guesthouse, we just didn't have enough time to check if they circumnavigate the whole lake (which is quite big). And... there is fish under the thick ice!!! We spent a couple of lucky hours :D and had a nice picnic on the ice, thank you, Antti! One more thing - the guesthouse stands in a mysterious place - you fall asleep as soon as you put your head down :) I wish to come back in summer, then in winter, then again in summer and again in winter...

The idea of a glass igloo is appealing - however be prepared for some space challenges. These igloos obviously have great access in summer to water - so likely will be enticing at that time of year. The beds were great - comfortable. Space for bags minimal - we had to decanter our clothes into our small carryon bags. even then could only have one bag open at a time. There were great subfloor storage for food (like an esky). Advertised to have kitchen - but no cooking utensils really supplied - no plates, bowls, cutlery. Family very happy to allow us to take some from BFast to use later. Issue is no ability to cook as no pots / pans supplied! After a big day out - only option was to eat in the restaurant on site - or have sandwiches only. Thus advertising a little off for what the igloos provide. Family - staff lovely. Very helpful (even with my limited Finnish). Loved the night out hunting for the northern lights. Even if nothing occurs you get a traditional Finnish campfire - food - conversation. Just rug up! My daughter loved patting the husky's as they returned from a run! A visit to the local Arctic zoo is a must!!

Toilet. lucky we are smallish. At 5ft 8" i had great difficulty sitting. I would not recommend this to anyone 6ft and above or an older couple (in 70+). It would be too difficult to manage.

My fiance and I stayed a week in the glass igloo, and it might have been the best holiday of our lives. Lapland in winter is simply stunning, and the glass igloo made our experience really special. It's nice and warm inside, the bed is comfortable, there is plenty of storage space, and the kitchen is great for cooking up small dishes (like hot dogs or breakfast). The freely included sauna is a nice bonus too, which we made use of almost every day. :-) We saw the northern lights twice! And this is where the glass igloos excel: You don't have to be out in the freezing cold to wait for the auroras to show up. Instead, you can just stay warm and wait inside and enjoy a glass of wine. It was perfect. The activities they offer are great as well. We went on a husky sled ride which was fantastic, and their partner Luplandi offered amazing tours too! (snowmobiling was another highlight!) All in all, I couldn't be happier with our stay here. Compared to other glass igloos in Lapland, I believe this one offers (by far) the best value for your money!

I really appreciated the availability of breakfast and the friendly staff. The opportunity to experience husky safaris right on the lake, without needing to travel anywhere extra, was fantastic. You can enjoy the Northern Lights, although there is some light pollution around. The place is very pleasant and reasonably priced.

The big house was quite noisy at night due to some people coming in and out around 4-5 am. It disturbed the peace and made it hard to sleep.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. They shared their experiences and stories with us during our stay. The activities - husky sleigh, snowmobile and Northern Light hunting were AMAZING! We loved the quiet location - helped to relax and enjoy time away.

Price of dinner meals were a little expensive with no variety available. The igloo power point didn’t work and we had to charge devices in dining area (this could have been user error as the charging point was difficult to reach)

Lovely place. We stayed for 3 nights in the guesthouse, followed by 2 nights in the igloos. Beautiful rural location on lake Ranua, so it's wonderful for hiking, activities and viewing the Northern Lights as we were lucky enough to see on our last night in the Igloo. Really nice staff especialy Joanna and Antti, our guide for the snowmobile safari. Delicious local food and drink - I recommend the haikku (highland cattle) kebab, the cloudberry drink and the ice cream mug (including cowberry ice cream). Fun activities to do, that are easy to arrange. You participate fully, so you drive the snowmobile and you drive the husky sled but it's straightforward enough. You can just ask about hiring snowshoes for the day or go on a guided snowshoe walk. You can also arrange to visit the reindeer farm on Wednesday or Saturday in winter. All the facilities you need are in the room - table, fridge, kettle, a stove in the igloo, a microwave in the guesthouse. Amazing panoramic view from the igloo. You can reserve the sauna for a particular hour and then you have it to yourself.

It was all brilliant.
