Such a lovely host! Her house is open and welcome to everyone, if you know how to behave well 😉 You can share your life story with her and she'll shares her experience as well. It's possible to get a fresh lobster broil at additional cost. The breakfast was homemade by her and you sit all together in the kitchen. Beautiful sun deck to see the sunset and close to the sea Comfy room with clean towels and sheets.

Be aware that you share the home with the owner, her little dog and possible other guests. There are 2 rooms for max. 4 guests, 1 bathroom for all, living room and kitchen. If you like to stay by yourself, this place is not for you

We were a little concerned initially about a room with a shared bathroom, but we could not have been happier with Mama's setup. The room was spacious, well-appointed and airy. The bathroom was spotless and not an issue at all to share. It was great to meet other guests and Kim was an exceptional hostess. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and fun. Highly recommend this place.

Nothing that we can think of - Kim has thought of everything.

We absolutely loved everything! From the warm welcome to the delicious banana cake. Kim made us feel like we were family coming for a visit. She is a wonderful host. We really enjoyed the area. We especially liked our day exploring Cape Sable Island and all the beautiful beaches Clark's Harbour has to offer. The locals are extremely friendly and always available for a chat. You must try the food at the Salty Bank restaurant, which is less than a 10 minute walk up the road.

From the moment of arrival, I felt so welcome (it is NOT the first house on the corner, derp!). Warm, welcoming vibes from hostess with the mostest, Kim. What a lady! What a place! Beautiful, quiet, safe location. Worth every penny and made for such a heart warming memory. Take my advice and stay here with Kim!!! If hot breakfast comes with your booking, accept it, wow!! Her homemade jams n jellies: life affirming. Everything perfection. Gorgeous, tasteful decor, immaculately spotless. I just kept marvelling at my surroundings. Hands down a highlight of anyone's Maritime trip. Hawks Beach, many amenities and lovely restaurants nearby. Overall, an exceptional place to stay, the top notch reviews do not lie! That I didn't stay longer (⁠｡⁠•́⁠︿⁠•̀⁠｡⁠)

The owner, Kim, is an absolute sweetheart. Our arrival was very delayed due to traveling to Nova Scotia on The Cat, the car ferry. We had to clear Canadian customs, grab some dinner in Yarmouth and travel an hour to Clark's Harbour. We arrived at 10:00 pm and she was waiting for us and immediately made us feel at home. Her home is immaculate. She asked us what time we would like breakfast in the morning, and we were greeted with fresh coffee and a full breakfast the next day.

There is a shared bathroom, but that was not an issue at all. The other guest was up early and out before we even got up in the morning.

Mama's by the Sea is a unique bed & breakfast in that Kim, the owner and host, is so welcoming and engaging. Guests are made to feel as though they have moved in and are like family. The breakfast was good. Better still was the lobster boil that Kim offers guests. She obtains the lobsters, you bring the side dishes you want, and at the end of a long day touring the area, Kim cooks them up and serves the freshest lobster you can ever hope for. It is an extra cost, but we found it reasonable. What a treat!

Guests should be aware that the bathroom is shared; not en suite. It was no problem for us, and there are only two guest rooms, so it's not likely to be an issue for anybody.

Breakfast was simple and healthy. Location: Unfortunately, Clark's Harbor is sort of a run down town with little to offer. If you are going to come, it is better to stay at Mama's by the Sea. The other option, East Wind Guesthouse, has a no cancellation policy which is strictly enforced, and Mama's does not have such a policy

Everything!! Kim is so welcoming and her hospitality is unmatched. Her place is so welcoming, well appointed. The room was perfect for our one night stay with everything we needed. She provided great recommendations and made us a delicious breakfast! We cannot wait to come back and explore more of what Clark Harbour has to offer.

Nothing, Kim's place is spectacular!

Kim is an amazing host. Very friendly and welcoming. Her house is at the end of a road, with the smell of the sea and the colors of sunset. Room is spacious enough, and bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is shared in the house but it was very clean and with all that you could need. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, with eggs, bread, jam, coffee, juice and tea. Kim suggested us a delicious restaurant and also gave us a coupon for 15% off. We had a very pleasant stay, and absolutely enjoyed this little corner of quaint Nova Scotia.

A shared bathroom can be an issue for someone. We usually prefer en-suite but had no problem at all for one night.

Kim (the host) was SO welcoming, happy to provide anything we may have needed and had local recommendations in the area, plus her sweet little pup greeted us at the door before even getting in!

Only thing that wasn’t 110% smooth sailing was directions on “getting in”
