Very comfortable bed and good amenities, beautiful/serene setting and staff was lovely. AC worked well. Just as an FYI, there was NO cell service or wifi, but they did have a landline that you could use to call within the US for free and also a number for emergencies. They have an onsite little market with groceries and some toiletry essentials that is open 3-9pm. It’s also great for stargazing after 9:30pm as all the exterior lates go off.

We booked a suite with two bedrooms, but in reality it was one room with a bed and the with the kitchen/dining area/TV area and then a door to another bedroom. So there was no way to use the kitchen/dining/TV area without being in the bedroom space.

This place is an absolute gem. The rooms are spacious with a very comfortable bed, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare simple meals. We were impressed by the wide range of outdoor activities and games available — there’s truly something for everyone. Stargazing here was absolutely magical, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were also pleasantly surprised by the little on-site shop, open daily and well-stocked with eggs, bread, veggies, fruit, yogurt, cheese, and more. A perfect getaway to pause and unwind away from the noise of everyday life.

We were given an upgrade upon check-in. However, neither my wife or I considered the room to be an upgrade and we requested that our original room be provided. Staff agreed with our request. Additionally, we bought meat to grill and out of four common area grills only one would light and it produced a poor flame, yet the tank appeared to be nearly full. We cooked our meat in a pan in the kitchen in our room. And, yes, I have extensive experience with outdoor grills. Overall, our stay was good to excellent.

Secluded, quiet, surrounded by natural beauty, Hidden Canyon Retreat is a special oasis of serenity and relaxation within a short drive of Great Basin National Park. The dirt road from the highway to the property is well maintained and easy to find. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The room had a small fridge, a microwave, and a toaster/convection oven, it also included plates, utensils, cups, mugs, etc. The store on the property was well stocked with plenty of quality supplies/provisions- and notably the prices were very reasonable. The Hot Tub was amazing, and the star gazing was top notch.

Comfortable rooms with cooking/grilling facilities and a well-stocked store. Hidden Canyon itself is a beautiful place to watch birds and enjoy the high desert scenery. Mostly cloudy but one night we got a glimpse of the fabled Milky Way. A great option in an area without much tourist infrastructure beyond camping.

Lots of water being used to support big swathes of grass. No sure it adds much to the beautiful canyon scenery.

This is an incredible property near Great Basin NP. You can explore the property yourself with mule deer and wild turkeys in the lawn. We also drove to the top of the cliff at night and enjoyed the Milky Way in the beautiful dark sky. Our room was a deluxe queen and was large and comfortable. Everyone we met were as nice as can be. A small grocery is stocked so you didn’t have to leave if you didn’t want to.

It’s a canyon so…. The WiFi could be better. If you want to be unplugged this is your place!

In the middle of nowhere. But with everything you need. Kitchen was the best appointed on our trio, Though we didn’t use much. Good out door spaces.

The number of signs, emails, peppers you had to sign, and staff telling you all forbidding some behavior, made it less retreat like. I can I imagine, they have had problems with each but one rotten egg shouldn’t spoil it for all. The block with rooms are bog standard and doesn’t fit into the landscape. It’s not good value for money but probably still one of the most modern and clean places around this area.

We love this Retreat! This is our 3rd time here. The rooms are huge and fully stocked! We are always comfortable. The property grounds are insanely beautiful and we enjoy walking around and BBQing on-site. You can get super close to the deer that rome the property! Pool is lovely hot tub is great! The star gazing is out of this world! We love how quiet and peaceful it is. The office manager is very helpful and nice and personable too! <3 Thank you for everything and cheers till next time!

This place is sooooo wonderful! It's literally hidden in a beautiful canyon with wildlife, and it is very peaceful. The rooms are spacious and bed was comfy. They even provided us with a pack and play, with a mattress, mattress cover, sheets and blanket for our toddler! The kitchenette is stocked with all the things you need to cook meals, even kids bowls/plates/utensils/cups, which was a big plus for us. The market is stocked really well and their local meat products are delicious! Really enjoyed our stay.

Clean, accommodating, friendly… I would give it 10/10 except for the following issue: The primary purpose for my visit was stargazing (very common amongst Great Basin tourists), but, because an Ivy League College was visiting that same weekend, the lights in the main visitor building/dining/conference area were on all night, effectively ruining all dark-sky viewing.
