This was the perfect place for us, a short walk into the City 10 mins. La Salamandre was a little haven to come back to after a day out, it had such a relaxing, quirky vibe and our host was lovely and welcoming. We would recommend paying for breakfast, it was a nice way to start the day and go and take some time to sit outdoors in their garden area.... the smell of the jasmine was just wonderful. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to eat. We really enjoyed our stay (we booked the superior suite) well worth it if it's in budget.

There wasn't anything we didn't like... but did get a little surprise at learning there is no toilet door in the room... it is simply partitioned off! We stayed in the superior suite which is worth it for the views outside.

Very stylish house. Stephane and his family were very friendly and accommodating - e.g. with arriving early and departing late / letting us store luggage and also with providing a serve-yourself breakfast when we had to leave very early a couple of mornings to get to Paris in time for Olympic events. We also loved sitting out on the terrace and enjoying some fabulous Chardonnay in the evenings.

We absolutely loved our room (superior suite: Mink/Vison) but felt that it lacked somewhere to store clothes - i.e. hangers, wardrobe and/or drawers. The prices also seemed a little inflated that week, as the Olympics were on, compared with other times in the summer.

The property is like home from home the owners are so lovely and accommodating, I messaged ahead of time to see if there was somewhere we could leave our bags until checkin time as we are coming at 10 he advised there was. We arrived at 9.40 walked in to the most amazing smell from breakfast the accommodation is so homely he let us into our room and check in. The room was massive so much space, breakfast was beautiful with a wide variety to choose from. We will definitely keep this as an option if we return

Nothing loved everything

The room and building were very attractive. Comfortable bed and large bathroom. Ample and tasty breakfast. We were only there one night while working our way back to our flight home from Brussels, so unsure of proximity to tourist attractions.

Parking was a bit of a nightmare. The gym parking lot right by the property was completely full until at least 9:30 p.m. The free city lot that was near the property was also full (in fairness it was Saturday night), as was another further away. After circling in an unfamiliar city, we eventually parked in a pay lot that was about a kilometer from the property.

A beautiful place to stay - the top floor room with bathtub was nicely decorated and very comfy. The host Stéphane was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for where to eat and events going on in town. Delicious French-style breakfast with bread, cheese, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, etc. Lovely courtyard at the back where you can have drinks.

Note that the rooms with bathtub don't have a standing shower, just a shower head with the bathtub. But for a short stay this didn't really bother us.

Excellent facilities , fabulous design , quirky Gallic French influence in a bohemian style , warm and inviting property set within the boundaries of an influential Georgian style house and gardens . Exceptional consideration given for the comfort of guests with Stephan ensuring our stay was seemless and enjoyable. Would recommend highly without hesitation .

very nice 'old world' building, tastefully restored. very comfortable bed, lighting could be better but only as i require bright lighting. my room only had a bath but dont remember that specified in the room option. breakfast was continental but very fresh and healthy

lack of power points but its an old building so to be expected. low level of lighting and lack of shower in that particular room. this is considering my stay was a work occasion, so maybe wont be important for a romantic vacation stay! :)

We had an apartment there for 1 night, which had a separate entrance, 2 bedrooms and a WC which according to Booking.com it didn't have. It's a short walk into town where there are plenty of places to choose from for food and drink.

Parking could be a problem. The nearby streets were full, but 5 minutes walk away, towards the centre, is a free public car park.

The welcome we received and the beautiful hidden gem of a garden filled with the scent of jasmine. The host was also very accommodating and guided us to the start of the voie verte next morning so we could continue our cycle trip. It was also within easy walking distance of the town centre.

the host was very welcoming and thr breakfast was really nice with lots to choose from and very tasty the bedrooms were large and the bedding was lovely and clean it was only a 15 minute walk into town

the bed was harder than I am used to we could have done with bigger cups for our tea
