The location is great, the design of the hotel is nice, the breakfast has many choices, the swimming pool and the sauna are clean, the staff is super supportive and provided us with a free upgrade to bigger rooms with lake view. Thank you all.

Though there is no free airport shuttle, the hotel responded in a timely manner and apologized for the dependency documented on the booking page. No worries.

I didn’t like the alarm clock went off middle of the night ,not only once. I couldn’t sleep well 🙈

The sheer size of it and the location.

The room we stayed in was disgusting. The shower had mold and the floors were not mopped. There was dust everywhere as though no one checked to see if the room was ready before allowing guests to stay there. The staff were not well trained. It seemed as though they didn't receive a lot of guests due to where the hotel was located. The staff had poor service delivery often avoiding or running away from us when we needed help. The waiter at the restaurant did not do his job well too. He often just guessed who ordered what and would often just throw the food on the table. Our order was wrong as well because the lady who took it did not bother to write it down. Once we sat and ordered food at the restaurant, the people who worked there started doing some construction next to our table where they were applying some chemicals that smelt like paint. The concierge had poor service too. They couldn't cater to us as foreigners because they couldn't speak English. I was shocked by this because you expect the Intercontinental to employ well-trained people who can cater to all their guests. Once we checked out we had to carry our own suitcases to the taxi because again the staff were scared or too shy to help us.

The hotel is perfectly situated if you are looking to get away from the noisy and busy Shanghai city center, offering breathtaking views of the lake—a haven of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The rooms were a highlight of our stay: spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful environment with no disturbances from other guests. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout our visit, and the bed was not only generously sized but also exceptionally clean and comfortable—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was another standout feature. As a modern smart bathroom, it offered ample space and functionality, combining luxury with convenience. The breakfast service was outstanding. Each morning, we were treated to an extensive and varied selection of delicious options, catering to all tastes. Despite the busy atmosphere at times, the staff remained friendly, attentive, and highly efficient, ensuring everyone was well looked after. The check-in process was seamless and quick, and we appreciated the multilingual staff, who were proficient in English and went out of their way to assist us, even accommodating our request for extra bedding without hesitation. This hotel delivers an unparalleled experience, clearly prioritizing the comfort and satisfaction of its guests. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious and serene getaway. I can’t wait to return for another visit!

We regret that we didn’t have enough time to fully explore all the amenities the hotel offers, as they seemed plentiful and appealing. However, we did notice a couple of areas where enhancements could be made. While our experience at the hotel was overwhelmingly positive, there are a few areas that could benefit from some improvement to enhance the guest experience even further. Such as room Service Pricing: While the room service menu was somewhat limited and the pricing seemed quite steep. That said, the presence of three on-site restaurants and the option to have food delivered to the hotel do provide guests with alternative dining options. Room Lighting: The lighting system in the room was a bit challenging to navigate. It would be helpful to have the option to control lights in smaller sections of the room for added convenience, particularly during the evening or early morning hours. Charging Facilities: We noticed a limited number of charging ports in the room. Additionally, unlike some other hotels in the area, there wasn’t a dedicated charging station for devices, which might be a valuable feature for guests who need to charge multiple gadgets. Overall, these are relatively minor issues in what was otherwise a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The hotel’s dedication to guest comfort and excellent service far outweighed any of these small concerns and I would still recommend this hotel without reservation.
