We had not known what to expect before we arrived but were delighted with the accomodation once we saw it. Basically it felt as though we were staying in a castle. The rooms were beautiful - very spacious and light with stone walls, floors and ceiling. A perfect combination of old character and modern conveniences. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The food and wine were very good. We would defintely recommend staying here as long as you have no mobility issues because the winding stone stairs in the turret to reach your bedroom would be difficult unless you were completely mobile.

It did not cause us a problem but you need to be aware that the only way up to your bedroom is climbing up a stone spiral staircase

A charming room with a vaulted ceiling which, together with the hugely thick walls, echoed the atmosphere of Les Chambres de la Renaissance. The window looked out over a pleasantly rustic garden, and all within was clean and comfortable with every amenity. Breakfast was extensive and included cheeses and salamis as well as the more traditional items in a continental breakfast. The 'receptionist' who initially showed us to our room, was very helpful and turned out to be both the chef who cooked our dinner that evening, and also the waiter who served it, assisted by a friendly black and white cat. called Blancnoir.

Our family room is really clean, spacious, and quiet. The room seems renovated recently. The master bed room is huge with a high ceiling. The thick walls and spiral stone staircase, the special castle accommodation features, are impressive. The beds are extremely comfortable. The fridge and good A/C are bonuses. There is a small lift that can be used as requested (note the weight limitation). Staff is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast should not be missed. We also try the pleasant dinner. The hotel situates in a country environment and self-driving seems essential then.

Nothing.

Beautiful hotel. It's not 5* but that's not what we wanted or expected for the price...the accommodation has been sympathetically restored, all rooms individually designed around the original features and comfortable beds and linen. We had family 2 bedroom apartment. Breakfast....it's a must. We also stayed for dinner which was good value and super tasty. Family of four thoroughly enjoyed a one night stop. Very helpful staff as we arrived with a van and trailer so needed advice on where to park.

The room, duplex in style, was very nicely proportioned and decorated. Stonework and tiles made the room very smart. The bed was very comfortable. Dinner was good and glad we made the reservation. Breakfast was fine. Great old main building.

Staff service in the dining room could be improved - just not trained fully in the work required. The white wine taken straight from the wine cabinet would have been much better had it been properly chilled. A Little disappointing.

Beautiful property in a quiet village. Our room was very nicely decorated - very welcoming. Great shower. Great air conditioning which was definitely needed as it was 35 degrees when we visited. We had dinner and breakfast - both very good - well worth it. Great location to stay if visiting Lyon or surrounding areas. Sadly we only stayed one night but wished it was longer.

The bed in our room was a bit too hard but that is a personal preference.

Such a magical place!! We loved loved our stay here. This is a chateau freshly renovated to very high standards. It offers different kinds of rooms, ours was a lovely bedroom on two floors with a spacious shower room downstairs and a beautiful bed upstairs, and the ceiling featured a skylight operated by a remote (it took me some time to figure out where it was...), there is also the option of air conditioning. The room had beautiful original details and tasteful modern additions all combined to make it very charming. And spotlessly clean!! The location is quiet, but there is a church attached to the property, so be prepared to be woken up by the sound of bells. Staff are amazingly welcoming. We had dinner at the chateau the first evening. It was homemade and delicious. The choice of wines is good, and our bottle of Saint Emilion was perfect. From Saint Julie, you can go and visit Perrouge, a medieval village perfectly preserved, and Lyon is only a short drive away.

It was absolutely wonderful

This is more than a 3 star place. It’s an absolutely beautiful small castle, absolutely perfectly renovated and presented. The rooms are large, the decorations are tasteful, the linens are impeccable. The owner, Isabella, is present and has a true gift at making this place and experience perfect. Read their website to find out the history of the place - very interesting. The breakfast was magnificent and worth the price. The dinner was less than expected, but fine. Parking on site was easy. The rooms each have a different feel. Ours was high up a spiral staircase looking out right onto a church. It’s very close to Perouges.

It could be difficult for people with mobility concerns. Phone them fist to see what rooms are possible and book those well in advance.

The chateau was really lovely and well restored. Staff were exceptionally helpful and lovely. We had dinner which was good and breakfast which was lovely too. ( additional cost for breakfast) It was quiet and peaceful despite being quite full and they were really welcoming to our dog and very happy for him to be with us at meals. Fantastic

Everything was extra including water in the room from the mini bar. It made the one night stay very pricey.

Very nice estate (historic building), well-located in the centre of the village and relatively close to the motorway. Free parking for he car. We booked a family room, which was very spacious and modern. It had recently completely been refurbished.

There is no elevator, but this is part of the experience of staying in a historic building. The room had not been cleaned very well. There was no soap and we found things from previous guests under the bed. The restaurant was closed the evening of our stay, but people at the reception desk gave us good recommendations for restaurants nearby.
