Had a musty smell, perhaps a hazard of the tropics. Hotel offers free airport shuttle but only within limited hours that end at 4pm. Hotel not close to anything.

- The price was disproportionately high. Ibis is considered a budget-friendly option in most cities, but here it is not the case - Staff was unfriendly and standoffish, if you are used to a European standard of customer service you will be disappointed - unpleasant and musty smell in the corridors

The room was clean. There was a good choice for the buffet breakfast. I was suffering from a cold and the fish soup I had for dinner was excellent. There are works going on which were visible outside but they were not a problem inside. Kettle was provided when I requested one. I have to mention that at check-out, I was given a small discount because of the inconvenience I suffered as described below. I did not ask for it but gratefully accepted it and this is the only reason I rated the stay 5/10 instead of 3/10.

Wifi did not work at all. Was first told that wifi was often jammed in the area by the authorities, and then that it was because my mobile phone was not 4G (even though I had received wifi without problems in Freetown, Conakry and Addis Ababa). There was a desktop for customers in the lobby but wifi did not work in the desktop either. As the hotel is far from town, there was no cybercafe or wifi hotspot nearby. During my 48 hours stay, besides the airport, I only managed to get internet access at the hotspot at one end of the National Park to check I had no important message. I did not receive any reply when enquiring about the airport pickup. For the free airport drop-off, I was initially told the driver was on holiday! When I shook my head, the reception staff contacted the manager and they decided to pay a taxi to drop me off. My general impression overall was that the staff are not bothered by the shortcomings and seem to think they are not big issues, i.e. just too bad. They clearly need training on customer service. Overall, it was below the standard I expected from an Accor-managed hotel.

The staff were pleasant and the rooms were quiet with controllable A/C and the standard Ibis bathroom, (although the extractor didn't work). Breakfast was good although it cost extra for an omelette!

The hotel is very tired and needs a 100% renovation, that said it was covered in scaffolding all around the outside, but that doesn't mean they are going to do anything with the dated rooms. I last stayed here in 2016 and they still have the same tiny TV in a unit with no magazines and less than 50% of the TV channels working and only a "component" input! The restaurant menu is very basic with the same options for lunch & dinner, with no draft beers and bottles are 33cl. The WIFI is abysmal/slow 0.41 Mbs download and I got better speeds using a MiFi.
