The lodge is beautiful, our hostess went out of her way to accommodate us. She brought fresh milk to our room for tea as we arrived quite late in the evening. Our car had broken and had to be towed in and she let us use the facilities until the rescue vehicle arrived to take the car to the next town, which was after normal check-out time. I would definitely recommend this establishment!

The only 'issue' I had was that the shower-head sprays so wide, you have to jump around to catch some water 😀.

Great value for money. I just needed a place to stay for one night, passing through the town. Staff was very friendly and helpful at reception. There was secure parking behing an electric gate.

My room did not have a shower, but I did not check or ask for a shower in the room. Maybe there are rooms with showers at a different price.

Not much happens in Middelburg, but it is a convenient stop over, guest house is reasonably well located, I could park my car right next to my room, which was very comfy and I could sit outside looking onto a lovely garden. Melissa, who welcomed me and also made my breakfast was a star!! Friendly and super helpful!

Only had a bath, which at my age was a bit of a challenge.

Karoo ouberg guest lodge was ideal for an overnight stay, room was comfortable with ensuite facilities. Short drive from town with various shops cafes etc. We had dinner in the Karoo hotel, which had the same owners as the lodge, good food and drink

The manager was very helpful and friendly. Lovely garden.

Accidental issues with toilet and an unexpected pipe that burst. It was well handled at the time, but a correction and apology by the owners was a bit slow.

Coffee cups not clean- one filled with water from a previous stay. Dustbin not emptied. Old KFC bag inside.

There was nothing really not to like. It was exactly what we wanted and we were very comfortable.

Karoo Ouberg Lodge was the "cherry on the top" of our Stellenbosch trip. We booked the accommodation in relation to our overnight stop requirements. Although we did not have any time to explore Middelburg EC at all, this beautiful BnB Lodge gave us a taste of the history and authenticity of the area. We were greeted by friendly staff and were blown away by the beauty and grandness of the bedroom we were appointed to. The lodge is a converted Karoo homestead with pretty gardens and well-maintained interior. We could browse through the entrance hall, admiring the newspaper articles and memorabilia displayed on the walls. The kids were also pleased there was a small pool to cool off in which is much needed during the summer months. We were glad to find a wonderful venue to enjoy a delicious dinner close by at the Cetis Country Lodge. We were well rested by morning to continue our journey home.

The time to explore was too short, though this has no reflection on the value and comfort of this wonderful overnight accommodation.

Very comfortable beds, electric blankets and heater - it was pretty cold the night we were there. The house is old, but comfortable.

The shower in one room wasn't working well.

Some information on where one can eat out - so much in the town was closed because of the Easter weekend. A small microwave would woukd also have helped.
