-friendly staff who welcomed us -peaceful location by the pier (feels btr than being in the downtown) -many free carpark lots around hotel

- for guests who dont drive, wouldnt recommend this location as it is over the bridge and the other side of town -there were no restaurants on the same side of the hotel open!!! Thankfully we drove and used the car to bring us to downtown to eat. -there is a free ferry but it does not go directly to the other side (downtown) and it passes thru another island. It is not frequent (every 30-45mins) -no bedrm slippers unfortunately -shower was small and had two moving doors so water could spill out to the toilet easily

Free on-site parking in front of the hotel. Adequate size room and bathroom for a short stay. Decent shower with great water pressure. Very friendly staff, very good breakfast buffet with a large selection of items. Short ferry ride to get to the downtown area, but nothing to see or do in Kristiansund, used it as a stop-over on our way to Trondheim.

The thermostat control on the heater was broken off so you couldn’t regulate the heat. They should have never rented this room until it is fixed.

The hotel has two buildings, one of which is a renovated warehouse on the water, which we stayed in. We had a corner room with a direct view into harbor/city, Rooms had a Bose speaker you could connect to and the wifi was excellent. The room had a "historic inn" type feel with the old ceiling beams left exposed, but the room had a very comfortable feel. The staff were friendly and helpful with explaining the water bus to get to the different islands, and the food in the restaurant (evening buffet and breakfast) was very good both in qualify and variety. Ample parking on site, and the entire layout of the hotel is very nice with an outdoor patio on the water. Definitely not the run of the mill chain hotel feel.

We hit the main breakfast rush and had a bit of trouble finding a place to sit since the outside area wasn't open (not sure why). Typical "hoarder-tourists" had the run of the buffet and were making off with food for later, but the hotel did a good job of keeping the buffet stocked despite their efforts :-) They didn't seem to have fresh juice, and ran out of the "premade" orange juice. They only had a "coffee or tea" option - no espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. which, for the price and type of hotel was disappointing.

Our room was located on a corner overlooking the sea/fjord with great views towards the city centrre. A real surprise and bonus was the 'sundbaten' a free and frequent tiny passenger ferry which can be picked up at Innlandet<100m from the hotel looping around some half dozen small wharves including Kirklandet in the centre. The breakfast buffet was very good.

Some building work reduced the number of parking spaces available. Best to drive past the hotel and park in one of the two small car parks next to the shore. No problem when quiet as during our visit but could be difficult if arriving late in high season.

Like all Thon hotels, the room was well organised, the staff very helpful and the breakfast excellent. The location is very peaceful and beautiful and the view from the window was stunning

The room appeared spacious for a single room but was in fact cramped and some nimbleness was required to teach the window. The location was a bit inconvenient for us about 30 min from the port/bus station as we were on public transport though a taxi was easy to get.

The staff, the hotel was perfect for a one night stopover during our tour of Norway. There is a lovely seating area outside where you can watch the ships and boats passing by, very relaxing. The room was nicely decorated, comfortable beds and a kettle for hot drinks. The food was good. I had booked a table for dinner but that hadn't been communicated to the restaurant. However, it wasn't a problem. The breakfast has a huge selection.

The car park was very full, thankfully, we were on a motorbike along with several others. If we had arrived in car there wouldn't have been enough space. The hot breakfast wasn't very warm.

The check-in was fast and efficient with super friendly staff. The rooms were of high quality: clean, modern furniture, overall quite spacious, a good coffee machine, large and comfy beds. We were able to completely darken the room using the curtains. The bathroom was clean with plenty of space and a good shower. Breakfast was of very good quality (but not quite matching what we experienced in the Thon Polar - so far our gold standard for breakfasts). Breakfast contained a wide selection of hot&cold, sweet&savoury dishes. Plenty of fresh bread, small cakes, cheeses (hard, semi-hard, fresh, spiced, blue, goat, ...), cold meat cuts, jams, crisp bread, gluten and lactose free options, salads and veggies. Maybe the only thing that could be improved is to add some warm veggies (e.g. grilled peppers or cauliflower). Coffee was excellent, but the coffee machine lacked a note that latte required a larger cup. We can completely recommend this hotel.

The location has its pros and cons. It is very quiet and there is plenty on site parking. It even has 4 EV parking spots with chargers, which were unfortunately not listed in the hotel description (would have made our stay even more enjoyable). But it is about 20 mins across a very high bridge away from the city centre. During the day there is a water shuttle, that takes less than 5 minutes, but it stops running at 17:20. While the check-in staff pointed out that their restaurant was open - they failed to inform us that a large party has booked almost the whole restaurant for the evening and a reservation was strongly needed.

Beds SO comfortable. Staff all great. A really good position, walkable into town but near the harbour ferry (day time only mid May). Breakfast very good. Free parking. Steps into fjord and sauna just outside if you fancy a dip. We didn’t - mid May.

Room with a view spoiled by scaffolding in front of it. Not a complaint - some work obviously had to be done - but a minor inconvenience for us.

Our 1-night stay at the Thon Hotel on Kristiansund's Innlandet island was a perfect stop for our drive between the Islands of Hitra/Froya to the north and Alesund to the south. We spent late afternoon strolling through the narrow, hilly streets of this historic little community, finding stairways and paths leading to the top of a small park with lovely views and evidence of its history of Nazi occupation. We then walked across the dramatic bridge to enjoy dinner in a Thai restaurant in the city, returning just before dark to our comfortable room. The breakfast rated #1 of any included with lodging in Norway!

Loved views over the water, comfort and size of room. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Free parking outside was great. Comfortable bed, sofa and coffee machine plus mini fridge.

No food available on a Monday evening In restaurant which was strange particularly as the hotel was full and it was July. We had a lovely meal out but for those who arrive late, it may be more inconvenient.
