I'm dairy free and low carb so didn't have the breakfast though the location was absolutely fantastic. So peaceful and quiet. And I especially liked how friendly their dog was. The View was absolutely stunning, and you could tell that Ruth went to great lengths to make sure things were always topped up for her guests and provided lots of little things like a kettle and second bin in the room that many wouldn't think of providing.

The walls were very thin, so as soon as someone walked down the hallway, others could hear. I know probably difficult to add this to an existing set-up, but it would have been nice to have a sink in the kitchen area for washing and preparing any simple foods like salad. This would not be necessary for many guests though as I'm dairy free and low carb, I do have to bring foods like this with me.

Location was excellent. Though it was a big house and the middle of winter the house was warm and the log fire kept things cosy, Our room was individually heated and was warm throughout our stay The setting of the house was idyllic with magnificent views all around . Access, initially, was a bit tricky but the instructions provided were spot on and we had no trouble it. The grounds were magnificent, Breakfast was a tad basic but the homemade bread was a bonus. all in all a memorable experience

Our welcome from Ruth could not have been warmer and throughout our stay she was friendly and helpful. we were the only guests for four nights. It would have been nice if Ruth and particularly Rory had engaged with us a bit more/ shown a bit more interest in our plans/suggestions as to what we might like to do. I know they were busy, especially Rory, but we felt a bit lonely at times in that big house. To counter that my husband is on oxygen 24/7 and we are both recovering from medical issues but everything was available for us and we went out and about most days.

It’s set in a gorgeous location. The layout of the house is spacious as it’s a purpose built guesthouse. The breakfast options are abundant. There is the option to have dinners cooked for you - you need to prearrange this with the guesthouse. The dinner we had was absolutely delicious - well worth the additional cost! They really go the extra mile to make your stay there comfortable…even carting in rainwater so you don’t have to drink the yucky town water!

I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like.

The location offers stunning views, and the beautiful garden was a delight to explore. The house itself was just as charming, feeling more like a comfortable home than a typical hotel. Our room was perfect - cozy and impeccably clean. It truly felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was another highlight. Everything was delicious, especially the homemade bread. Ruth, the host, has been very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed!

Lovely room with its own verandah just to sit and relax with a coffee or wine. Great setting atop a hill with sweeping views. Lots of birds. Peaceful. Breakfast consisted of great coffee, yoghurt, a variety of breads, and an assortment of delicious jams. Bowl of fruit. A barbeque and pizza oven on the verandah for guests. Great just to walk around this lovely property. Lovely kind hosts.

Situation - attractive hilltop position; Quiet rural location; Hostess’s attention to detail; Hosts respecting our privacy; Freshly baked bread - and perfect for toast and Shambhala produced honey to spread on it as well as a choice of local fruit jams!

It was not a deal breaker but the garden could do with a makeover to native flora to encourage the birds and assist the bees.

Shambhala lived up to its name as a place of peace. Wonderful place to relax and reset. Breakfast was light and perfect for us and the homemade bread was delicious! Ruth was a lovely host and location was just out of town which we prefer. Loved our stay.

The breakfast was a continental with homemade bread and homemade jams, delicious. Our hosts were a lovely couple who worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable and gave us complete privacy. We will definitely stay there again.

Secluded in a stunning location atop a hill surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside. Our room was spacious, with a huge super king size bed. Patio doors led straight onto our veranda where we watched the sunset both evenings. Our hosts Ruth & Rory were always on hand and nothing was too much bother. And of course their homemade bread…yummy! Bridgetown centre is lovely with a number of quirky shops, cafes and restaurants. Our favourite was the Bridgetown Pottery Restaurant…lovely tasting food and you can BYO alcohol!

Breakfast was a delight - plenty of choice, including local produce. Hosts very pleasant; stunning, peaceful location; excellent slow combustion fire in lounge. Lovely bedroom - flannelette sheets added to winter comfort.

Can't fault anything.
