Great location with several intersting guests. The toom we stayed in was very roomy and clean. We slept very soundly on a quite comfortable bed. The views from the lodge of the mountains and the Susitna River Valley is what makes this place a great stopping point half way across the Denali Highway. After reading other reviews I realized that many ignorant people come to Alaska. The reason you travel on the Denali Highway is to see what remote Alaska is like using roads that take you to remote, off the grid places. In fact, I was actually shocked to see any paved roadway and how great the condition of the graveled road was. If you are looking for a comfy ride around town don't take a remote road in Alaska. Stay in Achorage and pretend you saw the real Alaska. Your fellow ignorant friends won't know the difference. As for hunting, don't listen to the typical Brit, they lost there minds decades ago. The greatest generation of Brits are also dying out. We know, we lived in England during the 70s and 80s and have gone back a few times since. We still love the Highlands of Scotland though. They still hunt and fish as folks here in Alaska do. Final note, the staff at the Alpine Creek Lodge is very friendly and appear to be authenic Alaskans.
The dinner and breakfast were quite ordinary. The green beans at dinner were obviously right out of a can and too salty. I prefer fresh vegtables. I have had better $10 meals at Cracker Barrell. However, the cook and the staff seemed to enjoy the meals as they ate with us and were quite interesting to talk with during the meals.

Unique Lodge at an unique place. Great people take care of you. Don't miss breakfast and dinner, use the different offers like table games or books at the lodge. Visit the bar!
That I've only stayed for one night!

Friendly attentive staff. The room and food was what you'd expect in the middle of a gravel road nearly 200 miles from the nearest fast-food restaurant (the true sign of civilization!). The location was exceptional: the hotel is perched on a hillside a few hundred feet above the Denali Highway, offering exceptional views of surrounding Taiga, the Susitna River and the mountains beyond. Sure, one can drive up to the hotel (and bar) without staying there, but a with a stay there you get the views at sunset and close to sunrise (whenever you wake up)

Supper and breakfast were excellent!,
Drive to location was a gravel road which was very bumpy - nothing that the lodge can do, but it did make the trip long.
