Please note that I had an update, I stayed in appartment 4, "Violetta". Pleasant, very comfortable, excellent heating. Kitchen equipped with both an oven AND a microwave (for the rest of the mod coms see the website). Ample cupboards. Excellent for two persons, and for longer stays. Very friendly hosts, efficient and professional, too. I know very little Italian, but there was no problem with communication whatsoever. They will attempt German and maybe English also. The location is quiet for the time being; the Bormio pass is still closed. May be more busy in summer. Balcony has morning sun and a fairly good view up one of the side valleys. I loved the little extras, particularly the salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar, supplied in small sachets.

I liked everything. As mentioned, it may be that during the summer season there may be noise from motorbikes passing in this particular appartment; other appartments available.

Wow what a gorgeous place. The owner was super helpful. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, though it was just my husband and i and she had thought of everything. Happily provided us with extra tea n coffee for our kitchenette and gave us directions to walk into town for a meal. The location is stunningly pretty. We had arrived hot, sticky and a little shaken from our scary ride over the Gavia Pass on our motorbikes, ready to do the Stelvio Pass (easy by comparison!) the next day and welcomed their underground securely locked garage, not that i imagine any level of crime here!

Note to self... If you come to a Ski resorty kind of place in September (out of the main June-August summer season and before the ski season) don't expect there to be a choice of 17 restaurants as Bookings.com says because there were only 2 open! ;_)

The apartments are great - everything you could need. We were able to cook many nights and enjoy time in the apartment when not outdoors! The family running the chalet (I am so sorry I did not catch your names) are so lovely and welcoming. We don’t speak much Italian and they were so helpful and did a great job speaking English to us. There is a washer and dryer in the ski room which they helped us to use, the ski room has heated boot holders, lockers and even a table with tools and a vice for snowboard/ski repairs. We loved our stay here and the town so much we ended up extending our stay by 2 nights. There are restaurants and shops within minutes walk, and parking available.

Because the double chair lift in town is not operating (unsure if this is permanent), the walk to the main gondola was a little long. There are some bus stops on the way but we just walked - it’s not that far and it’s beautiful!

Be aware that even end May the valley (Valfurva) is a cul-de-sac (the Gavia pass up-road is only open for bicycle traffic, I think Chalet Bucaneve is the most remote apartment house of S.Caterina Valfurva).

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good room with kitchen and all appliances you may need. 5 min walk from centre of the town and chair lift. Also there was a free bus to another ski lift.

Quite a lovely chalet on the way to Passo Gavia, with cozy wooden furnitures and super friendly hosts. Absolutely recommended if you plan to stay in Santa Caterina.

Super staff! very nice and lovely attitude! I enjoy every minute here. Good location for cycling in high altitude. For hiking as well. Very friendly village. I stay here in end of May and enjoy quite place and nice weather! Not far from Bormio and mountain city noise, if it’s necessary! 😘
