Unassuming but completely fit for purpose. Comfortable bed, good shower and the friendliest staff ever. Elsabe, the owner, is particularly special. We liked the town too with a well kept feeling with no litter on the streets and workmen actively fixing the potholes.

It would be great if they could tidy up the outside areas a bit and perhaps add a little decor as the room is very spartan. They are however focussing on the basics and getting those right. They have worked hard to achieve their three star status.

A WELL APPOINTED hotel with a comfortable lounge and pleasant outdoor seating areas. Set in a quiet street opposite a disused hospital; rooms are spacious and comfortable; however the decor and ceiling fan need attention. WiFi, TV small, poor sound. Excellent breakfast!

Very helpful and friendly staff; hotel is secure and about a mile from shops, supermarket. Breakfast is excellent/ b’room & toilet paper could be better. The centre ceiling fan controls were broken; and besides the kettle, there was no facility to heat food.

I just want to give a big thanks to Akkerdam bed and breakfast staff and owner.You were so ftienfly and accomidating.We really enjoyed our stay.We made a booking for only me and my husband and I arranged that my little one will be sleeping with us.They went the extra mile and provided me with an extra bed that was not arranged they were so considerate.We slept well knowing our car is safe behind the gate. Last but not least,their breakfast was amazing! Would recommend this place over and over again. Thanks again Akkerdam Bed & Breakfast.

I liked the location and the atmosphere. It was calm and inviting. The people who worked there were friendly and cared a lot about our comfort and safety. The breakfast that was provided was delicious, thank you.😁

There were some issues with the shower pipes that kept making a noise when we used it. One of the plugs in our room caused the adapter to overheat, so we felt we'd rather not use it.

We were received very friendly. Parking is safe and the room very clean. We left too early for breakfast, but received very generous food parcels in stead.

Al my concerns were addressed by the owners. I don't like shower curtains, but maybe its my personal opinion. Shower soap is not supplied.

Toilet paper rack needs stabilization. Wood surfaces yet to be sealed. Less business than they deserve. Pool Maybe could work again someday : )

I didn't stay for breakfast as i wanted to hit the road but the facilities were great and as a woman travelling alone I felt safe all the way!

The map link from booking.com to google maps doesn't work! I had to phone and get directions as I was driving around in circles!

Nice small bed and breakfast in a residential suburb that felt safe. Hosts were super friendly and professional. Room was very clean with a comfortable bed and good aircon. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely recommend for anyone stopping in Calvinia. Secure parking too

Breakfast was great - fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, good coffee and eggs, bacon and sausage. Host is flexible if you have other dietary needs. Rooms have aircon, sheets are changed daily. TV has Netflix, Disney+ and Prime.

Comfortable rooms, super friendly host, secure parking for our trailer, and a fantastic breakfast. We were so surprised by the warm breakfast , good coffee and much more. We will stay here again-for sure!

The garden needs little maintenace and some litter lying around. The directions from Booking.com was not working.
