We had a warm reception and our host went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed, not only for ourselves but also for our 2 Scotties who traveled with us. Very spacious, clean and homely. The location is perfect - close enough to the shops, but on a quiet street. We could relax outside in a private garden, under a lovely tree after a long, hot day spent in the car.

Come prepared for the mosquitoes though.

Talita was a very pleasant hostess. We had everything we needed in the rooms and they had lovely wooden floors and ceilings and doors. Very nice character and atmosphere. Lovely hot shower and safe parking. Microwave, kettle and fridge provided with bowls, plates etc. Venue is central and an easy walk to the town hall and church.

No place to wash dishes

We had a lovely little apartment with lots of space, peaceful and quiet. Breakfast is extra but is definitely worth it. Talita is very friendly and informative. Undercover parking was very welcome.

There was nothing we didn't like at the accommodation. The town was a bit disappointing after Clanwilliam.

Talita was so helpful. Very knowledgeable about the area, plant life especially. She is warm and friendly and it was great meeting her.

Leaking tap in bathroom basin and I flooded the bathroom because the overflow was blocked. Something minor and Talita was not fussed, but maintenance needs to be followed up.

Nice and clean and has everything you need. Talita is a very friendly helpful host. Thank you for the safe off street parking right in front of our door. The aircon and fans were a nice breeze after a hot day.

Talita, the host was exceptional!! This is the second time I have stayed here, and the hospitality is superb!! Will definitely make this my goto stay over in Calvinia!!

Calvinia was closed for the day - Good Friday. This had absolutely nothing to do with Calvina Guesthouse!!

Great hospitality experienced from the hostess. She also gave us interesting information about the scenery of the town and surroundings which we appreciated, and resulted in an enjoyable trip to the Hantam mountain reserve.

Everything was just "hassle free". As I have already made my selections with the rating as such, there is nothing more to add than just confirming that our short overnight stay was perfect what we had in mind.

Very friendly reception, room was perfect. We didnt book breakfast ahead but when we ask if it is possible they were very eager to make breakfast.

Comfortable stay for a night, good location near centre of town. Facilities were basic but sufficient, bed comfortable. Air-con in room was welcome because it was summer hot!
