The un announced power outages. Back up power unit not able to back up on time leaving food half cooked and all total darkness. Unfortunately caused by the Municipal Power suppliers. The sun charged lamps did help.

The facility was clean and the aircon was a great help during a heatwave.

The barbecues were old and rusted and difficult to use. Height adjustable griddles were rusted and inoperable. During power cuts, the generator was not switched on and the heat was unbearable. Maintenance is needed.

It was located on the river Vaal, with a nice garden right down to the rivers edge. The room was small, but had all that was needed for two weary travellers.

I did not realise that it was that small. Everything worked in the bathroom, but it was not so easy for 4 X person.

Friendliness and hospitality were excellent. Staff more than helpful Owners accommodating. Beautiful setting, and I will stay there again without hesitation.

The house keeper on sight was very friendly. It is a comfortable stay over. The river creates tranquility and peace. Safe and piecefull

The staff are friendly and every query I had was answered immediately. The unit we occupied was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the river.

This cottage has the amenities to prepare one’s own meals and there is a beautiful garden, with pool, and view of the swiftly running Vaal River. If you don’t want to cook, I can recommend Lilly’s Grill which is on the main road – good service and enchanting old décor. The night I arrived, Christiana was hit by a huge storm and the power went off. I have to thank the owner’s son, who slogged through torrential rain to bring me a candle and lighter. They are also posting me my charger, which I had left in the plug in the dark.

However, be warned the roads into and through Christiana are amongst some of the worst I have seen in South Africa but once you are at the accommodation, it is lovely.

Very comfortable and spacious. With a lovely grass embankment leading towards the river creating a relaxing view. Great for a fishing trip.

No clear signage to clearly stating rules and the name of the accommodation. The dogs are free and friendly but not everyone happens to be comfortable with pets. There's also no clear parking allocated to each apartment.
