Maintenance was quick to respond to our call when needed to turn on the geyser. Freestanding fireplace worked wonderfully in heating up the accommodation. Facilities were overall well maintained, and the staff were friendly and always available to help. The place was very clean, and we were provided with everything that we needed to help us keep the place in the same condition. Overall, the experience was very peaceful. It was quiet, and the views of nature were extremely beautiful. Several restaurants within walking distance of the accommodation, all of which are extremely satisfying with large menus.

Geyser was not on when we arrived at the location, no hot water till we contacted maintenance. The oven and microwave did not work well and took ages to heat anything, only the stove top worked well for cooking. Plan accordingly. Radiator in the downstairs bedroom was not working and could not be used. The scenic walk at arminel was overgrown and poorly marked, did not complete the trail.

Very coazy family style houses and has a very natural feel to it, with the forest air and beautiful greenery. Absolutely love being able to see the stars and the scenery of the area.

Couldn't pick up the Wi-Fi if there is any. My previous stay had firelighters and wood, this time the wood was wet and no fire starter, not really complaining about it because there were heavy rains hours before I arrived, so it makes sense why the wood was wet.

What a lovely venue,and loved the house,the front door sticks a lot ,however it is clear that the maintainance that is starting is much needed(grass around house,eg) We had a dinner,the side dishes and salads were nice,but wow wow wow the beefstew was not edible,besides the "roast"potato was n 1cm piece in the sause,the meat was only chunks of fat and bone,and the total of meat was 1 tablespoon.The chef needs to know that although the taste was ok,a very expensive meal if without a reasanable amount of meat,something was really wrong with her choice of meat cut. Besides that all was pleasant

The peace and quite of the place. All of the staff are friendly and kind. It was clean and fresh. We were completely happy with our stay. We went there on Honeymoon 18years ago. We have had a rough patch the last year and a half with our health. So we decided to go back to reconnnect with ourselves. We would go back in a heartbeat if we could.We even wanted to stay on longer, but the weather wasnt so great on our last day. We really had a good time and we thank them for everything.

Love the property. Beds were very comfortable and and the cottage was very pleasant. It was our second stay and will not be the last.

When we arrived, two of the beds were left un-made so we had to inform reception but it was rectified in good time. There were only 3 forks available in the 6 sleeper unit, only 2 water glasses and no black bag in the bin, tv remote did not work but could put on manually and work the dstv remote to change channels. The fridge could be cleaner.

The location was superb nestled under magnificent trees. The hotel upgraded us to a cottage and it had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel sent staff to help us with a flat tyre 30km away from the hotel and this was greatly appreciated as it was already dark.

Not being able to use the pool and it was also not clean. The weather also limited our adventure but grateful for how you accommodated for that. Not having access to wifi in our house The water was sometimes cold.

From the best communication with Tamara since I booked. The welcoming from the receptionist and the staff. Clean rooms. The place is beautiful. The tranquility,not forgetting the uninvited visitors(monkeys) Ooh the food 😋 woow. Everything is fresh and tasty 😋. The waterfalls are across the road from the hotel. Overall u must be fit for the steps and hills. We had a great time loving every minute even the 🌧 🌦.

Property is beautiful and relaxing, breakfast was delicious and lovely staff.

If you are checking in late or over weekends do not pay through booking.com as this was a big issue for me and put a stain on an otherwise enjoyable stay. My room also had a bath, no shower, so beware if that is an issue for you.

The location is superb and following the heatwave experienced in Jhb, Hogsback was the ideal location to cool off. I recommend the facility and area as a whole for vacation and not only accommodation as it has a lot of activities to enjoy and sites to see.
