Location is excellent..... well worth 2 nights.....with a day down at Buffels River - with the delightful surprise of flamingos being present there, ramble along the Atlantic shore and a drink with Rocky at the Angling Club! Everything you can imagine available at the Cottage and the trust of the owner is much appreciated. Rowena and neighbour Wilfred welcomed us warmly. Morning view down to the sea, as the mists clear, is spectacular! Springbok, Steenbok and Ostrich are among the wildlife you begin to see here, along with the variety and abundance of bird activity at the extraordinary Buffels Riverhead!

Had been assured that the sofa bed would be made up for my daughter, but it was not. However, not hard to make it up ourselves. It was nice to have that amenity. The Crazy Crayfish was a little disappointing - though not connected with the owner of course!

No loadshedding in this town. Nice to be able to walk to the beach and good for a few days in the cool sea breezes.

No mention of the very bad dirt roads to access the accommodation.+-40klms Without a 4x4 it could cause damage to your vehicle. Kitchen was very well equipped but could do with a little freshening up. Some may enjoy the decor and Frenchy shabby chique look but it felt a little claustrophobic around the bedroom/kitchen entrance area. The keys were left in a secure box outside and thus no personal contact with staff.

A comfy eclectic hideaway near to the sea. Everything you could need was available in the home. A washing machine was very appreciated. Good line out the back The cooker was very useful in the cold spell. The lighting was bright and plentiful & used eco bulbs. Better than in most rentals!! Load shedding did not occur here which was a relief! However, that would not have been problematical as there was a gas heater with 3 levels. We were toasty & comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped. The kitchen had every tool you could possibly need! Plenty of china glasses and cutlery. Good wifi.

The back door needed some WD40 / oil on the bolt. Following the horrendous flooding the route was a little difficult.

it’s more than a month later of reviewing this place and honestly, I still think about it. What an AMAZING escape from city life. The road to this town was not paved but it had good intentions…the landscape is so beautiful to take in from our little car. I would advise getting a 4x4 if you don’t have the patience but once we arrived we couldn’t bare to leave 4 days later. everyone was so friendly. The property itself was homely, inviting and warm. I work from home so every morning I’d get up and setup my work station overlooking the ocean, magnificent! Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon

I wish I knew this was a gem…. I would’ve stayed longer. The crazy crayfish pub has an excellent host, although we couldn’t get dinner, the pub experience and local stories was amazing.

The crazy crayfish walking distance from the cottage only provides dinner if ordered before 14:00 on the day. I wish I knew that.

The view from the cottage is lovely. On the outskirts of town so lovely and quiet with the sea in the distance. The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you may require even a washing machine. Big shower with large shower head - best ever. For time out this little hideaway is just what the doctor ordered. Also reasonably priced

The wi-fi wasn't working but not for the want of trying - Telkom not the most reliable.

The surrounding was great, the weather and the arrangement was perfect. even though i met no one on the premises it was easy for me to get arround

Stunning location in the small town, overlooking the ocean. It had all the amenities you would need. Great communication from the host

A little tricky to find the cottage

Great location when visiting Namaqualand to view the fields of Namaqualand Daisies that bloom every year during late August.

nothing to do in town. no meat in any of the shops. planning to be done when travelling here.
