Rustic charm and environment of the hotel. It's location was perfect for our visit to Morella.
Breakfast wasn't the best, fried bacon/ham and scrambled eggs were the "cooked hot" options available daily. Sadly on each day these were very, very dry and not enjoyable. So toast it was with the cold options of ham and cheese. Dinner again on one of the nights we stayed wasn't the best either, my wife ordered the Caesar Salad and it had 2 small bits of sliced chicken, I had the Charcuterie and Cheese board, which arrived with only the cheese, had to wait between 10/15 mins before I could get the waitresses attention to say that I hadn't got the meat. She eventually brought out 5 small slices of ham, needless to say wasn't the greatest and disappointed. Shower wasn't great either, the showerhead didn't fit in it's holder properly.

Lovely hotel in center of morella. Staff were very helpful. We ate there our first eve and food was very nice. We booked the private parking which I would recommend. You need to drive up first which is a scary drive for English and Irish not used to narrow streets with hills and turns. You can then leave car and forget about it knowing it is safe and when you leave there is a box to drop in the key. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Would recommend to stay here. We had a lovely room with a view over the valley.

The location is perfect for this family run hotel. It is old, a little tired here and there, but the friendly staff work really hard to keep it clean and in order. Everything worked as expected. The mattress was a comfortable memory foam type, and the linen was good. I've seen better towels, but they were quite decent and perfectly acceptable. The bathroom had a good supply of hot water. The buffet breakfast is well worth having. A good varied selection and very hygienically presented. We did have dinner in their restaurant one night, and that too was delicious and excellent value for money. The bar was very well stocked with a wide selection of beer, wine and spirits. We had a great time there, despite visiting during some bad weather, and it'd make a great base if one wanted to tour, or hike, the local area. Our motorcycle was kept safe in their garage, which is secure, and just a few minutes walk away.
We stayed over a weekend, and our first floor bedroom was both directly above the hotel bar and opposite a restaurant and bar on the other side of the street. Both are open until late, with the bar opposite having a license until 1.30 am. On one of the nights, and I'd stress just one night, the noise outside was very disruptive. It didn't bother us too much, living in central London, but if you are sensitive to noise late at night, it'd be worth asking for a room in the rear of the building.

We first visited the Hotel and Morella in 2018 when we led a group of +50 people on a walking holiday of the area. The hotel is just as good now as it was then but the bathrooms have all been upgraded and are now much better. We were on a full 'pension' and therefore had an excellent breakfast and dinner each day, with a superb choice of excellent quality locally sourced food. It was worth returning to the hotel, sometimes things change over time but the Rey Don Jaime has stayed just as good as the first time.
If you want a view of the mountains and surrounding area ask for a room at the back of the hotel, otherwise you will be looking over the bar and shops across the road.

Hotel Rey Don Jaime is ideally situated in the.heart of medieval Morella. Public parking is available within a short walk from the hotel. We had a good sized double room with an ensuite bathroom and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice. The reception staff were helpful and friendly.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel the staff were very excellent . The dining room was to close at ten but they kept it open. As we arrived at 9.50 pm so we could have a three course meal . The hotel is in a great position . I say walking distance if the car park Castle Prison and tower .
We liked it all

Right in the middle of this old Hilltown. Could walk everywhere, and the views from the windows were amazing.
OK parking was pretty challenging! Also, somehow I thought I had booked a parking spot, but turns out I didn't. Process could be clear. But they were very accommodating! Such nice people running the hotel.

Lovely hotel...had the feel of a friendly, independent hotel rather than an impersonal chain. The staff were warm and friendly. Both the breakfasts.and the food in the restaurant were good quality and value for money. Awesome view from the balcony of our room overlooking the valley. Ideal location halfway between the town walls and the castle. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be back again.

Superb location, right in centre of town with good view of the castle (we were on 3rd floor) there was secure garage for motorbike. Bed comfy. Breakfast very good with choice of eggs bacon cheese, and hams pastries. We also ate one evening in the restaurant, it was v good the sole in raisins (traditionsl dish) yum.
