The hosts were super lovely, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was great. They were super friendly. The room itself was so nice, super clean and the bed was super comfy. Also loved that I had a bath in my room, and a small fridge. The decor throughout the hotel was done really well and in keeping with the location. It's right on the square in a small, country town. Very quiet. The hotel restaurant was also fabulous - would definitely recommend going there on your stay.

The only thing was the plug for the bath wasn't big enough, so my bath wasn't very long because water was slowly escaping. However, I'm sure if I had remembered to say, or ask for another plug, they would have accommodated - I just forgot to say and was already in the bath when I realised.

Great location in the center of Santa Pau. Beautiful decoration in the room, bathroom and common areas. All decoration is tailor themed as one of the ancestors was a tailor (=sastre in Catalan). Breakfast was excellent and abundant, with high quality products and served at the table with excellent service. Impecable service from all personnel and the host at the hotel who not only were nice but went above and beyond providing tips on the places to visit in the surrounding area. Thank you for being great hosts and made this stay so special!

It was perfect.

Lovely hotel, makes you feel you're in a movie. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, with all the amenities you could think of. The kind of bedroom you wished you could have in your own home. I loved it. There is an amazing balcony/veranda facing the green valley which would have been a perfect spot for your breakfast or just a cup of coffee any time. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans for our stay! Eva made sure we had everything we needed all the time. She had the heating on a boost for when we arrived so that our room was warm. She even lent me a jacket and jumper as I had not packed the right clothes for the weather we had!

I would have preferred the breakfast as a spread/buffet rather than having to ask for things or being offered. But that is personal choice.

This hotel is fantastic. The owner makes you feel special from the moment you arrive. The suit was fantastic with a great view and very spacious. The hotel also has a restaurant with a phenomenal chef. We were lucky Jesus cooked for us both days. The location is very good for hiking, you can walk to the trails right outside the door of the hotel.

Wonderfully located in old Santa Pau. Splendid views. Excellent breakfast and meals. Eva and Jesus are great hosts, cheerful and always ready to help.

A very small detail: a better water kettle would be a good investment :)

Excellent conversion of an old building next to a medieval castle in an ancient pyrennean hill town. Beautiful room in lovely surroundings with interesting and quirky decorative details. Outstanding food in the restaurant and at breakfast.

Access by car is limited due to narrow old streets if you have an SUV, but there is a large and secure car park not too far from the castle.

The hotel had lots of character and was clean and well presented. The village and surroundings are lovely.

There was no atmosphere at all - there were hardly any guests and we had to call a number to check in as there were no staff either. The breakfast was very repetitive - it was exactly the same three days running within no choices!

It was in the centre of a small medieval village, which we could see in distance as we approached. We ate outside in the hotel restaurant that evening overlooking the square. Both Eva and her husband were really helpful and friendly.

It was out second stay at Cal Sastre. The first one was in 2017 and it left great memories. The second time was not different. We were warmly received by Eva, owner and manager of the hotel. Eva is tireless to help you with anything you can possibly imagine. She handles the hotel and takes care of the breakfast. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Great atmosphere! The restaurant is handled by Eva’s husband, Jesus. What to say about the food? Well, people come from Barcelona to eat at the restaurant. Jesus prepares the best gin tonic ever and will surprise you with all sorts of drinks, “amuse bouches” of all types and a great, really tasteful food. You just feel at home with Eva and Jesus. Looking forward to the next time!!

The staff was really friendly. The room and the place were very nice. The breakfast was also very good.

Attention, don't follow Google to get there by car, or you will finish in a very narrow street and having to turn around.
