Beautiful hilltop Spanish village. Wonderfully quiet & 100% Spanish, creating a real feeling of being somewhere unique and genuine. The hotel was small if a little quirky, but a real gem. It was wonderfully quiet, providing a welcome escape from the hurly burly of modern life. Although small, it had all the facilities we needed. The staff were attentive & provided a really helpful personal service. As a base for walking the wonderful trails through the mountains & soaking up the Spanish culture, this place is perfect. Ramon, the owner, runs his hotel with a light touch, making his guests feel very much at ease during their stay. He also enjoys a wee malt whisky. The ideal tonic to brighten up an evening spent in the gloom of a Spanish national power outage!

If you are after piped entertainment Sky tv, & chips, this place is not for you. 😉

Easy check-in instructions if you don't arrive in time. Lovely room. Nice touches. We got used to the unusual lay out regarding the bathroom. Nice budda bowl for breakfast. Loads of it! Amazing scenery and beautiful sunset. Small bar opposite was very nice for quick tapas style food. Nothing else is open on the Sunday evening.

Trying to find a way out and in village when parking. Easier to park at the bottom and walk the few hundred metres as not that bad a walk. Observation only: change the glass containers for the shampoo and shower gel in the shower rack to plastic before they fall and smash 😱 look lovely but not in a shower area.

We booked the Superior King for the balcony and the view but were blown away by the room itself, beautiful furnished and decorated, everything has been thought of but I won't spoil the surprises for you. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and I have considerable posh hotel bed experience to compare with. Breakfast can be as big or as little as you like, we went for the full breaksfast, it was the best. Jorge is a friendly and helpful host and I fully recommend staying here and taking a walk around this highly historical village and impressive castle.

Nothing not to like although on a Wednesdays there are no restaurants open in the village. The hotel will cater for you with notice.

Fabulous renovated property in this beautiful village. Stunning room. We had the Superior King, but I guess that all the rooms have been done to the same exceptional standard - better than most top quality hotels. Every item in the room merited a second glance; such clever and thoughtful design. Even the bathroom surprised. The view from our window and balcony was spellbinding! We simply sat and looked at it for hours. If Michelin rated hotels, La Casa de la Poeta would merit its top star rating - “worth the journey” (even from the UK). Room service meals now an option, with a tempting menu. Good restaurant with a terrace only a few steps away, but not open every evening. We had a good lunch there. Convivial bar in the street below, playing pleasant music after evening opening at 8pm. A special mention for George, at La Poeta, whose advice on our onward explorations in the Sierras greatly enhanced our experience of this under-appreciated part of Spain.

Location, room, staff, breakfast

We came slightly out of season and there isn't anywhere to eat warm food in the evenings n the village (not on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday evening). The hotel provides an excellent cold evening meal if requested but it would be lovely to have maybe one or two warm options also in particular on the nights when no other restaurant offers a warm evening meal in the village.

everything! what a wonderful hotel, it is decorated so beautifully, lighting extraordinary, bath with light super cool. bed super comfy. the staff is so friendly and helpful, they are absolutely amazing. the breakfast is great with very fresh fruits, great omelet, delicious cinnamon roll. the location perfect, views wow. when going to segura de la sierra, this is the place where you want to stay, it is perfect!! thank you so much ramon and george, you are awesome!

This small boutique hotel is in a beautifully restored historic home in the heart of one of Spains most beautiful towns. It is quiet, comfortable and the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and there were many other thoughtful little touches.

Nothing. You just need to appreciate that this hotel is at the top of a small mountain and off the beaten track, but if thats what you want then I would recommend it to anyone.

Amazing new hotel, nit and beautifully decorated, the atmosphere is perfect and the beds were cozy and convenient and the hosting was the best!

Very nice and friendly people takes time to interact with guests. The place is magnificent. We had out meal, good local simple food at the terras with a view on the sunset. Very romantic.
