Stunning accommodation. Home Hotel Christian IV is highly reccomemded. We just arrived, rate including half board. The dinner was delicious, really surprising. Soup, different salads, starters, tender pork tenderloin, side dishes. Very nice staff, hotel has a traditional ambience (former bank). The breakfast was also great, offering different meals, pancake, fresh fruits, beverages. Staff is very nice, helpful, polite.

Never change the running system :)

Breakfast on day 1 was great, all the basics plus ginger shots, smoothies, juices, cake... Lobby and other areas are really nice and cozy, plus free coffee, snacks, drinks is a huge bonus! Room is nicely furnished and renovated, bathrooms could use some attention next. However, it was super clean.

Breakfast on day 2 unfortunately was a bit unorganized: coffee running out several times, plates running out several times, selection a lot less. Obviously there were more people on that day, but I guess this is something that is to be expected and should be managed accordingly. The staff were helpful and working hard.

Very close to the train station and anything else you needed was just a few minutes walk away. Easy check in and out. Didn’t hear any noise from neighbors, so I was either lucky or the rooms are soundproof. Great food (although I was not able to attend the dinners, but the breakfast was good). The hotel room itself was very comfy and cozy. Might have to come back here someday! 10/10

Central, super clean, very comfortable beds. Liked that there was a bar and various rooms to sit in, play pool etc. Breakfast was good, we missed dinner so can’t comment on that. Shower was good too.

The bathroom could use an upgrade, it was shabby compared with the rest. We couldn’t get the coffee machine in the room to work but we just went to reception and picked up coffee. No big issues.

So much to love about this hotel from location convenience to the splendor and attention to every small detail of this hotel . Small niche spaces cater to guest privacy and an open coffee buffet at the entrance point to a welcome attention to guest comfort. The staff are especially friendly and warm .

Rooms could be more well lit and we would have lived to have a fridge and kettle in our room. Small amenities like this were definitely lacking.

Really enjoyed the lobby and shared rooms of the hotel. Great interior design, relaxing atmosphere and an attractive billiards table. Sleeping experience was really nice. Half-board option provided through our reservation really did worth it.

Some minor upgrades in the bathroom (shower cabinet, lighting installation, power access) of our room could be performed.

The location of the Hotel is excellent, just a few metres away from the Central station. It is situated in a very beautiful building close the shopping area and just opposite the very beautiful Tivoli Gardens. The room was very spacious with a desk and a chair which came in very handy as I needed to work. Will definitely stay there again.

For some reason the TV kept switching on in the middle of the night on its own accord and even though I made sure that I switched it off from the remote control, it switched on again the next night. The shower could have been a little more powerful. Apart from these two things, it was an excellent stay.

Lovely old hotel with lots of character . Staff very friendly . Excellent breakfast , with lots of choice . Down stairs sitting room lovely and great old paintings etc . Great location as near station and the centre of city .

The carpet on main stairs is worn so needs an upgrade . Very warm in room , however you can open windows . And shower needs new tiles but all fine …

Staff and service excellent! Wonderful ambiance- loved staying here. Breakfast was exceptional great. We are vegan and they had many options for us to choose from! WE GREATLY APPRECIATED THIS!

The only suggestion we would make is to have the staircase carpet replaced. Other than that, the building has such charm- in all its grand appearance! Beautiful!

We had a good sized room. The building is a beautiful ex Sparebank building situated alongside the Kristianstad Railway station and adjacent to the bus stop. It is also directly across the road from the Tivoli Gardens. The hotel is also very close to lots of restaurants and bars. The bathroom is a little old but the shower and bathroom work very well and are a good size. The room has a good desk with plenty of well positioned power points and there are USB power outlets on the bedside tables. The bed was very comfortable but may be a bit soft for some (not too soft for me). We had a small Juliette balcony and the hotel has some lovely period features especially in the common areas of the ground floor. The hotel has a number of free parking spaces across the road which are easily accessed. Parking spaces are a bit limited so be early. If the windows are closed the room is quiet and well insulated from adjoining rooms. We were given bottles of water and sweets in the room. The WiFi was fast and reliable but you regularly had to sign in and accept the Ts&Cs.

The hotel doesn't have air conditioning which can be an issue on hot nights and opening the windows allows the noise in from the street. However, we did have a fan which helped. Our room wasn't cleaned or made up while we were there. Breakfast was not up to scratch. The bacon and eggs were cold and the coffee was undrinkable. There was a lack of fresh fruit and many items ran out including coffee cups and plates during breakfast. No pastries or jams. The hair dryer was an old fashioned wall mount unit that should have been relegated to a museum. There was no plug in the hand basin so shaving was a problem.
