The owner was lovely and explained everything we needed to know (in English). The location is good; 10 minutes walk from the train station, and right next to the night market. The owner offers free use of their washing machine (which is really kind). The room has a water dispenser in it.

The hotel is tucked away in a cool narrow lane past a temple. The English sign is difficult to spot if you are coming from the train station, but the coordinates are spot on. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and at least one of them speaks excellent English. It's a superb room for backpackers. Old hotel, yes, but spotlessly clean and well maintained. Very comfortable bed, excellent lighting and excellent WiFi. Very nice and spacious bathroom with an excellent shower. Everything you need is supplied. There's a fridge and a water dispenser in the room, which even makes instant hot water...and there's coffee in the reception if you don't have your own. I have no idea why the Google reviews are so bad. Excellent location next to the night market, 7-eleven and the bus stops for all the places tourists want to go.

It was nothing I didn't like, but it would have been nice with a smoking area, because the streets are busy here.

The position was really nice, very close to both the night market and the harbour. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was not very big, but the bed was comfortable, so overall it was perfect for our visit!

The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so it wasn't a problem for us specifically, because we only had backpacks, but of you have big luggages or a wheelchair you need to consider it. Our bathroom didn't have a separate area for the shower, so the whole floor tends to get wet.

Hotel staff are all very warm and welcoming with many good recommendations. They also helped address my queries about the places to visit in Keelung. The hotel's location is perfect, near plenty of food places and transport nodes. Room is great too and they allowed me to keep my bags till 10pm. Laundry is also self service and free.
