A lovely island, close to nature, without big hotels. Snorkeling was possible right from the beach. But we also enjoyed the organized tours, snorkeling , fishing, trekking, and cooking. The food was very good and the dishes changed from day to day.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to get a massage during our stay. We had some problem getting in touch with the hotel to arrange transport but this was solved.

The island is beautiful, our accommodation simple but charming, with a gorgeous outlook onto a deserted tropical beach (we were in Pearl Bay), the food really delicious throughout (repeat: delicious, and our standards are high), and the staff exceptionally charming and eager to please (thank you, Manager Tu). I enjoyed our 'fishing' expedition to see the sunset in the bay, and loved the snorkelling. Plenty of lovely coral fish to view. Another highlight was the resort's sea turtle rearing facility: fascinating!

In certain conditions algae forms along one or other of the beaches, but is soon swept away by the tide. A little more help perhaps with snorkelling for beginners, like my partner, and a better step ladder back into the boat. The sea had washed some litter onto the rocks near the snorkelling area. It would be nice if the resort could clear that away.

Fabulous location. Friendly, genuinely helpful staff. Loved our room 512. Food was plentiful and varied. Heavy rain during visit but did not take away from our stay. Disappointed with awful, toilet and shower facilities at the Snorkelling Beach. Sunbeds etc dirty - like the other side of island the facilities really in need of attention. Sadly saw no fish but probably due to weather. Lovely island, personally would go again but would recommend with reservation due to neglected toilets, sunbeds etc away from main resort.

Ligging

Lot of waste around the island and in the surrounding waters. Buildings need some updates and renovations

Great location. 15 minute boat ride from port. The beach was nice but there was a lot of trash, plastic bottles and such that should be cleaned up. The bed was comfortable. The room was nice but needed updating/painting.

This is a private island owned for 100 years by one family (so I was told.) The buildings at one time, I'm sure were very nice, but the entire resort needs TLC and updating. The staff is outstanding! The food was tasty but common, not much imagination, 3 buffet's per day included in your daily package. This "could" be an extremely beautiful place if the owners took the time and money to make it so. Unfortunately, it seems they are satisfied with the status-quo. The entire resort had less than 10 guests over our 3 days / 2 nights, which tells me something isn't right. I could go on and on, but I won't. If you want a quaint, quiet, "simple" island experience, this will suite you. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was great. I hope ownership invests time and money to bring the Island back to life!

Beautiful location and lovely staff. Manager Pou couldn’t do enough for us. Food excellent 👍 I

Steep steps often without handrails. Very uneven surfaces in the dining area. Single bed in both rooms very hard. Not a mattress more a wooden board.

Quiet, secluded in Mook Bay. Super friendly and sweet staff.

A disappointment from 2018 - when we absolutely loved thestay at that time . That was what made us book again this year. The absolute highlights of that time: having the meals prepared for us in the bay where we were staying instead of buffet, massages every day, the big bungalow to ourselves - were all gone. Changes have been made since, probably covid, that negatively influence the quality, in our opinion. We dont mind living a little "rough" or basic (open air bathroom, gaps and holes in the wall) and we know that maintenance and upkeep is difficult in these areas. With the highlights mentioned above we would have overlooked it. But this time we booked a bungalow but got a room in a bungalow split in 3 units, no mosquito net, big holes in the wall. Not what we reserved and paid for. And this time we payed almost double compared to last. All credit to Kong - who very quickly remedied the situation and got us our bungalow the same day. Staff is lovely and helpful.
