Maridin Hotel is truly a gem. It perfects in being a historical boutique hotel. Look no further and stay here. You won’t regret it. 10/10 HISTORY: Over 1500 years of its history, the building was used for various purposes, with most recently as the state run orphanage. It is tastefully converted into a hotel with careful attentions to details. From the use of the local antiques to the room decor, every item and design was chosen with sophisticated aesthetic senses. HOSPITALITY: All the beauty outside won’t mean a thing if it’s empty inside. What makes Maridin Hotel stands out from others is its people. Every person I encountered was friendly and helpful. Especially I’d like to thank two people: Savas and Banyamin. Savas went out of his way to make my stay in Mardin (not just at the hotel) special - upgrading my room, arranging a trip to Miryad and Dara, and even looking for the particular traditional silver craft I wanted to purchase. Having him with only WhatsApp message away was almost like having a personal concierge. Banyamin made my morning of the departure day very pleasant. He was kind and answered my questions about the hotel and its history carefully. After all, it all comes down to people, and Maridin Hotel is where you find it I’m still enchanted by my stay at Maridin Hotel as I write this. I hope to return in the near future

Absolutely nothing

It would be wrong to say it’s one of the best hotels in Mardin because it’s not one of the best hotels , it’s THE BEST hotel in Mardin …. Location and accessibility is very important for this magical old town and this hotel has everything in its favour …. If someone wants to experience a luxurious, magical experience then this is the place to be….

I’m an older solo backpacking traveller, &, staying at the Maridin Konagi Hotel for 5 nites, has been one of the highlights of my 2-month journey so far. The property is like a museum. Even B4 check-in, I was welcomed & greeted by its valet Şerif who carried my backpacks to reception (and then to my room). At reception, I was once again welcomed with a warm smile & shown all the amenities of the hotel by the staff member on duty, Bunyamin. Şerif speaks perfect English and was able to translate everything, all altruistically. The two were a wealth of local information, & offered me tea (cay) every time I passed thru the lobby (along with excellent conversation). I felt like a local. The facilities were typically limestone-ish Mardin-ish. Great location, room was spacious & airy, shower was consistent with all degrees of water temperature. The property has a busy terrace restaurant at night with live local music. And also a filling Turkish breakfast. And very close by on same street are good espresso-style new modern cafés (coffee shops), if Turkish coffee is not your thing). In sum, I recommend this property without hesitation & with complete enthusiasm. If you do stay here, make sure to engage in a chat with Şerif to find out anything local. I hope to a return to Maridin Konagi next year.

There was nothing to dislike.

Everything! The property and rooms are absolutely stunning! Staff are phenomenal and they all went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We got put into one of the most beautiful rooms I've ever stayed in my life. The location is great as it's on the main road into Mardin, and you can easily explore the old city by foot. The restaurant is also wonderful and has lovely local music playing at night. A huge thank you to everyone for making our stay so great, we actually extended from 1 night to 3 nights stay.

Nothing, it was perfect :)

This hotel had everything we needed. Big and comfortable beds, good shower, wonderful breakfast: very tasty and beautifully served, garden with shade where we could drink coffee and tea, large terrace where you can have dinner with live music. The hotel is very nicely decorated. Most of the staff do not speak English, but if you need anything at the reception, you can use the translation application and communicate. The hotel offers various tours in the area, so you can take advantage of this convenience. Everything you need is near the hotel: restaurants, cafes, shops, historical sights. We enjoyed ourselves here and I believe we will return again. Thank you for hosting us nicely.

We liked everything.

We had a wonderful stay at Maridin Hotel! It is a truly beautiful hotel with its authentic building and style, located very centrally in Mardin, close to many major sights. The view from the terrace is amazing where we enjoyed coffee/ tea during day, and dinners in the evening. The rooms are very clean. The personnel at the reception such as Miss Bahar and her colleagues as well as the restaurant and elsewhere were very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and of good quality, and we really enjoyed the traditional music at the “sira gecesi” during dinners. It was overall an amazing time in this hotel, and also the fact that we had an upgraded room made our stay very pleasant.

We arrived on an early morning flight well before check in time. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They offered us free breakfast while we were waiting for our room to become available. They will also look after your bags before check in and also once you check out. The room was clean and tidy. ⁸Overall it is a wonderful place to stay at and would happily come back here again in the future.

Rooms are not sound-proof. Breakfast is decent but could be slightly improved with some salami and sujuk meat added.

A nice hotel in a very good location in the old part of Mardin. I walked all around town and got to see all the sights - and could still take a little siesta inbetween at the hotel. Comfy! The breakfast was very nice - but always the same for seven days in a row. But really nice and yummy anyway.

All the nights were noisy due to generators or A/Cs?! I was happy to have ear plugs with me as I sleep very lightly. Or else everything was good.

The building itself is absolutely stunning. The views from the Window of my room towards Mesopotamia. The live music every night that I could listen directly from the my room.

It was challenging sometimes to comunicate with the hotel staff, because most of them don't speak English. But I was helped a lot by one of the staff, Serif, who gave me a lot of information and helped me with practical issues. Thank you.
