I liked the surroundings, amenities, my room and most of the staff. The General Store has great healthy selections for any meal.

I came for a quiet retreat and found myself right within earshot of the loudest HVAC unit on the property - building 700. Is it in need of maintenance? The lovely balcony, one of my favorite places to hang out and read, was unusable. This can happen I know, but I walked all the room types over my 4 days and nowhere is that loud. No problem, right? Request a room change. The manager refused my request to move to a quieter room TWO days in a row. I gave up and can’t recommend The Ranch to anyone.

*It was very conveniently located to all the attractions for Death Valley. * The staff at check in are professional and very informative. Also avail 24/7. Very nice touch. * Convenient to have eating options and general store so close by esp if you are tired after a big day of exploring. * WiFi worked really well.

*The rooms are a bit old and walls are paper thin so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. * Restaurants are pricey for so so food, but the staff are really lovely and it’s so convenient to have these food options on site. No take out for breakfast buffet which would be nice if you want to eat with a Death Valley view. *Huge line at check in. Need more staff. *Refrigerator does not have a freezer component if you have ice packs etc. * This is not hotel’s fault but wish I had more time to try out the mineral pool which is supposed to be 85F. **I would stay here again.**

Liked having all the food and shop options at site. Museum was neat too.

The maid knocked on door at 8am, then 8:30, 8:45, on day of checkout when we were trying to leave at 8 am. I don’t think 9am is a late checkout. Very annoying.

Beautiful setting and nice rooms with amenities

Beds not comfortable and linens very scratchy…maybe the soap used ?

The location was amazing. Most national parks require a daily drive from lodging into the park. The Ranch was located directly in the heart of the park! Want to go to the visitors center? 1 minute drive. Need gas? 1 minute drive. Want to watch the sunrise from Zebriskie Point? Maybe 10 minute drive. It was excellent!

We were pretty disappointed that the pool and the playground were both closed. We were told we could use the pool at The Inn so, in order to fulfill our promise to our three kids that we would swim (because is vacation actually a vacation without swimming in a pool?) they wore their swimsuits to dinner, we drove over to the inn and wandered around until we found it… and there was no water in their pool either. Seriously sad kids.

Had a great stay at the Ranch. We had a cottage which was super cute. Lovely & clean in amongst other cottages. The Ranch itself is amazing, it’s so beautiful there, definitely an Oasis in the desert. Staff were friendly and welcoming as well.

The choice of food is quite limited. You can either eat in the restaurant or in the saloon, unfortunately there was a 50 minute wait to be able to eat in the Saloon so we just went into the other restaurant instead. The grocery store at the Ranch is extremely expensive, I understand it’s out in the desert but I think the prices were extortionate & obviously choice is limited.

The location was very good. There was a choice of places to eat onsite. Room was a good size. There was a cold water and an ice dispenser near the rooms. The terrace with rocking chairs outside the room was lovely. Plenty of parking near the rooms.

There was a lot of noise from upstairs and next door rooms as the walls were very thin. There were lots of shops onsite, but a lot of them were closed for the duration of our stay, which was disappointing. We ate in the golf club bar a couple of times and that was lovely, but we were disappointed with the service in the restaurant. Staff were inattentive and it seemed unorganised. The food was ok, but overpriced for what it was.

Overall a comfortable stay. The AC worked and it was overall clean. Central location to the sights at Death Valley National Park.

Wifi was very spotty in the room, but great at the restaurants. The wifi needs work as it kept bumping us on and off throughout our stay, even within minutes of logging on. The male receptionist was efficient but had no affect, so it didn't feel welcoming. When asked where would be a great place to look at the stars, he said anywhere there were no lights. Okay, that wasn't very helpful. Wish there were more options for food (we tried all three places), but given the location, they were all fine. Our guestroom didn't have a microwave but did have a mini fridge.

The location is great. It's very close to the main attractions. The hotel looks very good. It's literally built in an oasis, it makes you feel you enter a different dimension. I loved the stables with the horses, the museum, the saloon. The cafe also offers several pastries which is the perfect alternative to who does not want to use the buffet breakfast.

The hotel do not offer room services unless required. I do understand that everyone is trying to be more sustainable and I am not looking to increase waste, however a second toilet paper in the room would have been appreciated so I did not have to come all the way to reception to ask for it. I also agree that the room does not need to be cleaned every day however, considering how hot and dusty the death valley is, service should be considered every other day. For instance, changing the towels and a hoovering the floor. The place is not cheap and it would be nice if the services were included without expecting the guest to prompt the actions.

Location was good. It is one of the few hotels in Death Valley, and it is good enough. Of course the rate is very high for what you get. There was a problem with water and we were not informed in advance. We couldn’t even wash our teeth with tap water. Water was provided but we needed to ask for more water (only 2 small bottles were left on our room to drink and wash teeth, but we were given additional ones when we asked). Outdoor pool is great at night as it is extremely hot!

Corridors are very old, dirty and need refurbishment - look abandoned. (But room was ok and clean). Property lacks illumination outside. It would be good to have breakfast included, considering the rate.
