This place was cool, convenient and charming. If you're feeling adventurous and curious about the many FORMER pleasure points of Nevada, please check out the Shady Lady Bed & Breakfast. Close to Scotty's Junction and Beatty, Nevada, it's a great place to stop, rest and regroup. The owners were so hospitable, the place was CLEAN and it was super warm & cozy on what was a very cold & wildly windy night. We had the Asia Room and it was quite nice. No TV in the rooms but we heated up our dinner in the kitchen and had a nice meal/conversation before retiring to our room. After a long day of driving, it was just what we needed. The next morning, our breakfast was cooked to order. It was simple but very satisfying - Eggs, Sausage, Fruit and Toast....coupled w/coffee, it was the perfect breakfast. It was then topped off with an interesting conversation w/guests. Once again, pleasantly surprised! Thank you, Jennifer, Paul and Nigel! What a treat.

Very (and I can’t stress this enough) nice and helpful owners. Peacocks, dog, cat, goat all very nice. Tasty breakfast at a large table with the other guests, which encourages conversation. Veranda for evening drinks and stargazing. Lovely and unique interior. Will definitely come again if I’m in that area.

While it’s cool to be in the middle of nowhere, it would’ve been nicer to be a little bit closer to Beatty. Thin blanket. All of the interior has its charm, but some of it could use a bit of renovation (e.g. some loose floor tiles).

What a wonderful find. Driving up to the Shady Lady we had second thoughts. Then we walked into the sitting room/lobby. It was like being in another world. Our cabin was delightful. Well appointed, clean and looked out in the prairie. Our hosts Nigel and Jennifer could not have been nicer. A full American breakfast was served on the lovely dining room. Jennifer even cooked a plate of eggs for our dog. If you are used to all the upscale amenities this may not be for you. No TV AND very sketchy WiFi.

Outstanding experience - the house has a lot of interesting history which made the stay very special. The cabin is a great place to enjoy the desert and have some privacy. Other rooms are in a shared space (the main house). The folks running the B&B are great and make really good breakfast!

The rooms in the shared house and the house are also shared with a cat and dog so for people with allergies this could be an issue.

The owners were an absolute delight! We had marvelous conversation. Also, when it turned out that we were going to have to leave early, they were extremely accommodating and made sure we had a hot breakfast with going out the door. The bathtub was extremely fun! We will definitely be going back.

As with any historic property, maintenance is a constant issue. We found a few loose tiles in the bathroom, but nothing we couldn't handle.

As soon as we got to the Shady Lady we were made to feel at home! We stayed in the paradise suite, which we absolutely loved. The building itself was fascinating and really enjoyed the breakfast. We have stayed in 9 hotels on our trip and this was by far our favourite and one we will remember for a long time! This was down to Jennifer, Nigel and Paul being the best hosts we could have asked for.

An absolutely amazing place. It’s quirky, it’s quiet and it’s just a magical place. The owners were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. Paul you are without a doubt the nicest person I met on my trip. If you like stargazing this is a bortle 1 sky zone and you have a whole desert to wonder into. The peacocks and wildlife added to its charm. I’d 100% stay here again.

Nothing at all it was perfect.

i absolutely loved everything about this place. i felt at home right away and i think that’s what Jennifer and Nigel try to achieve, make everybody feel welcome and treat them like family. after check-in i got a glass of wine and the hosts and all the other guests sat down on the front porch and we just enjoyed the evening and had a great time. in the morning we all had breakfast together and it was so delicious. the room was also perfect, big comfortable bed, nice shower and a bathtub. i’m so happy i found Jennifer and Nigel’s place. i had a really good stay. and i also recommend their place. it’s just about 2 hours outside of Las Vegas. hope to see you again :)

The inside was excellent. We stayed in Marquee Peacock room. It was beautiful and it had their famous in room tub. Breakfast was very good and the staff was helpful. We would consider staying there again.

The shower head was partially blocked and didn't get as good water pressure as we would like. The bed squeaked and I am someone who moves during the night and it bothered my husband.
