Wifi good. Check-in folks friendly. Room gigantic with two very comfortable beds. A desk for a little work. Breakfast was OK. Good enough & included. Fridge & microwave in room. Clean. Close to Interstate. No noise. Can park right outside of room. Very convenient for traveling through. Thank you!

Check in closes pretty early, around 9:30. Since we were traveling on the Interstate a long distance, we had to make sure to get there by 9:30, which was a little stressful. The bathtub had a faucet that wouldn't turn off, so there was always water coming out of it, and it was that way when we checked in.

1. The lady clerk who checked me in was very caring and helpful. 2. The internal corridor that lets you go from your room to the main lobby and to the secondary lobby ("Middle Lobby") is very useful, because you don't have to go outside in order to go to the lobby or get ice. 3. The place is located right next to Jody's Diner, which is a good thing.

1. There is no on-site clerk during the graveyard shift. One will come from home if there is an emergency, which is a good thing, but the basic set-up makes emergency situations be difficult. 2. The maids were talking to each other loudly in the inside corridor in the middle of the morning, which ruined my sleep. There's no reason why they could not have talked to each other quietly. I don't know what they were thinking. 3. Water was not offered as a beverage in the Middle Lobby. And although the clerk was able to get me a small bottle of water, it wasn't cold.

Our room was clean and comfortable and a thorough search for any of the nuisances that were in other online reviews revealed nothing to worry about. The location isn't quite central, but it is a pretty quiet spot; since most visitors to Evanston are in a car, it's just fine to hop in and get anywhere quickly. We loved the wide hallways and the spacious rooms, as well as the cozy, vintage lobby (especially when they had the fireplace going). If you stay here, you're also supporting local business!

Nothing worth complaining about!

The rooms were very large and well laid out. In older motels that are inexpensive you sometimes get tinny rooms, but these rooms were huge. Lots of space to put your stuff, extra chairs to watch TV, etc. The receptionist recommended Jody's restaurant next door and that was a very good tip. For a classicly designed MOTEL this was a surprisingly well done one. It was like a throw back to the 1960's--in a good way.

The large dusy parking lot made you think that the motel wasn't going to be very clean or well maintained, but when you went into the room you were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast wasn't anything special, but with Jody's restaurant next door I didn't care.

The room is large and spacious, the beds were a little stiff, it was very clean the Linens were nice. The shower was lovely the water pressure was very high, the breakfast was really ridiculous though it was like Bagels and milk and packaged GMO cereals it was terrible nothing like all the pictures show. I liked that my pets could stay there with me, and I liked that the floors were wood floors and not carpet cuz carpet gets so dirty so easily. The TV was pretty sketchy very small and the sound was terrible for the size room it was otherwise me I liked it. The price was right the location was great the customer service was really good the girl was lovely and very kind. I would definitely stay here again.

The TV was very weak and the sound was very poor for the size of the room, the breakfast was terrible. The room got really hot because the air conditioners are down for the season but thank goodness it was a fan there or I would have died LOL

I really loved the big room with 2 king size beds in it, that's rare to find for the great price. We were moving back home to Oregon from Texas and this hotel was our half way point. So a great big room and super comfy beds was awesome. Plus being next door to Jody's Diner was very convenient. Pretty good food, by the way. They sell fresh squeezed water too lol. Easy, friendly check in. I also loved the bathroom area. I really loved the parking space and the safety of the area. We had a regular car that we were able to park right in front of our room and our pickup truck towing a trailer was able to be parked along the fence in front of our room. There's cameras all around the property. We had stuff in the back of our truck as well, and nothing was stolen. A friend that lives in Evanston, came to visit us for a bit and said thank God you're staying here and not across the street at Evanston Inn because that one is drug infested and disgusting. I'm glad I went with Prairie Inn. I would definitely stay again.

I didn't like that they don't offer their continental breakfast until 8am. Most hotels start at 6am. So I can't leave a review of what that's like due to not having the opportunity to try it.

Large room with 2 King size beds (King Room) very comfortable. Nice dressing area separate from the main room with a partition that could be closed for privacy. 70's decor but, that was what we expected from the looks of the outside of the motel. There was an outer and inner door which was convenient when unloading the suitcases from the outside and the inner door that opened to a large hallway that lead to the ice machine and chair/tables for the continental breakfast in the morning. There was a very nice laundry area (we did not use it but it had several machines for washing and drying the clothes).

We had to wait for the continental breakfast that we never got because we had to get on the road. There were several items that were available like cereal and breakfast bars that we ate. Juice machines were not working and we were told the day shift person would be bringing the rest of the items for breakfast but, did not arrive before we needed to leave.

I loved this place, and hope to visit again. It's exceptionally clean throughout, and the 1960's architecture is superior to the flimsy construction of more modern hotels. The high ceilings with exposed beams give the rooms an open, spacious feel. The cement-block walls all around make the rooms very quiet. The single-story construction makes for easy load-in and load-out, and ensures that guests are not disturbed by any overhead noise. Each room has two doors: one opens onto the parking lot, and the other opens onto a very wide hallway for access to the lunchroom, lobby, and laundry. The laundry room itself is quite remarkable: a large, open, glassed-in space that's sparkling clean. The whole place has an irresistible retro-60's vibe. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

The person at the check-in counter was not overly friendly. The continental breakfast was a little on the skimpy side, with the juice dispensers not running.

Friendly and helpful staff, big, spacious room and a quiet location, close parking to the rooms on the outside with a separate entrance to the inside hallway.

The t.v. in our room didn't have a good signal, the stations kept flickering on and off while watching, and it should be mounted on the wall for more comfortable viewing; and the room seemed very dark, even with all the lamps on.

It was a blast from the past…like a motor inn hotel. Everything was clean and the motif was right out of the 1960’s. It was everything I hoped it would be. Set back from I-80 so very quiet

There are louvered windows above the door that are not covered so the light from the outside makes it not a black-out situation…but it wasn’t enough to keep me awake!
